But that's if you've lost your current main key or want another as a back up. I got my tC used and it only came with one main key so I'm looking for a back up key that has the immobilizer chip in it. Sadly it would still have to goto the dealership to be programmed to start my car.

I would call different locksmiths to see what they charge to program the immobilizer for a key. There are some vendors on ebay and other places that sell key blanks with the keyless entry and immobilzer chip. There are instructions out so you can get the keyless entry working.
