Default kinda rough during warmup

Well lately i have been noticing something about my car. Not sure if its just recently or its been going on, but it feels like especially when the cars not yet warmed up, and i shift from first to second, in between 2k and 3k rpms, its real rough like its almost like the engine kicks in kinda, hard to explain but something i can compare it to is like loosing traction over a metal sewer cap after its been raining. It hasnt caught my attention till lately, im not slamming the gas either, can anybody explain or have a theory if anythings wrong or is it just cause the car is not warmed up yet? thanks

don't EVER drive your car AT ALL until it's warmed up... just a little tip, just turn it on, and let is sit there for about 5-10 min. then go on your way.

I'm not sure what's going on w/ the car...but if it's not completely warmed up (idle @ 800 R's) you may be experiencing a sort of "lurch" after you shift due to a higher idle as part of the engine's warm-up process.

When I drive off in the morning I usually don't need to use the gass pedal between 1st & 2nd because of the slightly higher idle.

As for this advice:

It is contrary to what the owners manual states...

I always warm up my car. It's a habbit. But ones i did drive it cold beacuse i was late for work. I did notice it's hard to shift from 1st to 2nd but you need not really use much of anything beacuse the idles are so high it's pretty much does it all for you.

5-10 mins is a long time imop. i usually would wait untill the temp guage goes gets up to the first tick or up to normal running temp. that only takes up to 3 mins. recently since ive gone past the break in milleage ive drive off after the temp gets past the second tick but do not go past 3k rpm until its at normal running temp.

I once jump into my car and took off right away. I was late for work. The car was jerking for about 4 mins before it was running smoothly. ;)

the automatic wont shift into overdrive when the car is cold. I thought it was a problem with my engine, and I drove a few times with it not warmed up....since i found out the engine doesnt shift until it gets warm, i wait the 5 mins before driving off. even in the middle of the day, ill wait until i see some warmth reappearing on the gague.

I once heard from my friend (which has been driving manual only ever since he was 9) He said we need to wait b/c of the lubricant of the ball or something. (B/c when we leave the car out there or for a while, the temp drops down b/c the car is idle, thus the lubricant for shifting gets harden/frozen.) That's why we need to wait till it gets warm up and melt down?

you should warm the car up under load (driving). when the car is idling the motor doesnt get alot of lubrication which is even worse when the oil is cold. its the revs that destroy a cold motor. so you should start driving right after you start the car but keep the revs low until its at operating temperature.
