They only time I drove with loose lug nuts was with my old car. My neighbor told me to do it since my steel wheels was rusted to the hub. Went a few hundred feet heard the ping and felt like crap. Slowed down, jumped out and tightened everything up with the four way.

Kind of a risky way of loosening the wheel. I would've just grabbed a nice heavy mallet and hit it a few times. Their just steelies.

Tried that sledge with a block of wood. PB Blaster, WD-40. The dumb thing would not come off. I did a 1/4 or less of a turn lose from finger tight and went <10MPH. It was crazy stuck. Put anti seize on it after wards where is was rusted on.

I tried to start in 2nd gear to see if the issue is reproducible and I couldn't hear it (It could just be engine noise masking it).

It's a 2006 tC, manual transmission with ~60k miles. I change oil and rotate tires every 5k miles. I have not changed transmission fluid.

Has anyone seen this issue before? Any info/tip is appreciated.
