Nice~ MX-5 is a nice go-kart type of car. I like that car~ but it's not my type. Enjoy your car both in summer and winter~

I've read a few things about the car.. They handle great, but hell.. look at the thing, it looks like a clown car.

It is not made for anyone 6' or above.

It would be a nice for someone short & skinny, or a girl..
I'm 6'2 and there's like, half an inch of space between the top of my head and the car's roof. So your argument is moot.

I'd rather pick my tC over that! It's so little! I've seen people drive it on the road sometimes and they look like giants driving a toy car. Plus, i don't think I would like to be in an accident with that...I'll stick with my airbag-filled tC.

I think my argument is perfectly fine. It is IMPRACTICAL, like I said, not a downgrade. The MX-5 is a better car inside and out, whether it is too small is an opinion but the car is definitely not a downgrade.

I guess I am happy for you that you got a car that you like, but I never did see the point why people post in a scion forum about getting rid of their car for another car.

Sorry to hear your tC didn't work out for you.
I'm never a big fan of this argument.
1. If this was true, everyone would buy a kia and drop 20K into it and say their's was better.
2. When you modify your car, you slowly lose out on warranty claims, which is something to consider. Yes your car may be faster and have better suspension, but your warranty is those areas is done. This is why people buy more expensive cars.

lol.. a whole half an inch? Wow.. Do you have to put the top down or get out to put a hat on?

You better watch out for potholes or your heads going to be hitting the roof. Even on a hard launch your head would probably hit the roof. A half an inch is nothing..

The car is tiny, I don't see why you're trying to argue that.

That's great if you plan on keeping the car completely stock..

Mazda is really bad about the warranty, if you do a few minor performance mods your it's done. Then you're in the same boat.

Is that going to be a daily driver or occassional driver? How well does it do at the pump?

THATS what I am talking about. I am saving up close to 10 grand. Thats the max I am spending on parts and total on my Tc, and yes I have compiled a list and yes it will make my Tc fast and look awesome.

But the Miata is nice, but I like working on my cars, and paying 20k for a car is not an option for me at the moment.

With the moonroof cover in the tC closed, my hair was already nipping that. Yes, I can adjust my seat up and down, but I like to see some of the hood.

being 6'7", it's slightly a squeeze for me in the tC... I'd love to have a Mazdaspeed MX-5 (turbo+little car, mmm) but my height just won't let me...

Are you trying to tell me that the tC is more roomy then a miata?

I'm also 6'1" and unless I have the seat completely up I have at least 2-3 inches above my head.

^^ This guy I feel sorry for... I have a friend with a G6 GT he bought about a year ago, and is now trying to trade in.. He paid $25k, now he can't find a place that he can trade it in for more than $12k. He lucked out though, and his mom is taking over his payments so he can get a new Yaris S sedan.

versello, you made the right move. I bought my tC in August of '05, and I've grown tired of it already. I'll continue to use the tC as my daily driver, but I'm definately going to go with something more powerful in a couple years. What I like now(from having driven them) are 350z's and WRX's. The MX-5 is an upgrade in my opinion, because of all the added features that make a more quality ride. Not to mention its RWD. You made the right move because deep down you knew you wanted to, and you sound much happier, so kudos to you.

I did love my TC also (05 with 15K on it) but I got to tell you. The rattles are getting worse. The sun roof, the radio cover, the hatch, the glove compartment, now something rattling from underneath the steering wheel..it goes on and on and getting worse by the month. It feels like the whole car is coming apart. I am also thinking of trading it in.

i don't know what the deal with rattles is. i guess it's just hit or miss on the tC, some has, some don't. i have.... sucks and it's only been 3 months

i don't see why anyone would bash on the mx-5. i personally don't care for it too much, but i read it's been getting the best reviews, and i think has the best customer satisfaction out of any car made period.

i'm bias. i'll only buy a car that's honda/toyota make. so the guy with the g6 sedan, i wouldn't recommend that car, but that's just me.

as far as the mx-5 goes, it's too small for me (i'm only 5'-7"), i don't like the design too much, and it's not a brand of my choice. but i know it's an awesome car with some real performance to back it up. good choice i think if it makes u happy, which is the most important thing when purchasing a car.
