Thanks. I'm glad you and others have no rattles. I drive purely for the thrill of it, and the rattles were getting pretty annoying. I like to hear just the asphalt and the radio.
You could be like me and tear apart your whole car placing foam strips everywhere between plastic and metal...

I've solved every rattle except when I have the moon-roof on tilt... and I don't think I'll fix that one, however, if the roof is closed or all the way open I do not hear the rattle...

Anyways, I just read how everyone had so much trouble taking it to the dealers and got dicked around, I took it upon myself to fix it.

It's so nice now that I've finally isolated everything, but it was a lot of work too...

i don't see why anyone would bash on the mx-5. i personally don't care for it too much, but i read it's been getting the best reviews, and i think has the best customer satisfaction out of any car made period.

i'm bias. i'll only buy a car that's honda/toyota make. so the guy with the g6 sedan, i wouldn't recommend that car, but that's just me.

as far as the mx-5 goes, it's too small for me (i'm only 5'-7"), i don't like the design too much, and it's not a brand of my choice. but i know it's an awesome car with some real performance to back it up. good choice i think if it makes u happy, which is the most important thing when purchasing a car.
The bulk of the problems revolve around the funky glass roof and the incorporation of plastic between the metal frame... and the stupid plastic fillers for the side airbags...

I honestly don't know why they couldnt have had those big foam tubes in that same space, you know, the things you swing at people in a pool with? That would've been the perfect thing to place along that part of the car...

Yeah, I tore apart the rear three times, foamed everything up, and I was able to get it to a point where it made no rattles. But then I some tapping noise developed, which I could never figure out. The dealer had it for two weeks at one point and couldn't fix it. Plus, when I got the car back from them, they gave me a moonroof rattle.

Versello, glad you got what you wanted. Don't listen to anybody else, get what makes YOU happy.

I got flamed to death on the Tacoma forum I'm on when I traded in my POS XRunner for the tC about a month ago. Some people can't accept that others aren't happy with a certain vehicle.

Why should a Scion TC forum all be happy that he got rid of his tc for another car.

I don't know this guy from a hole in the ground. I could care less what he drives if its not a tc. In fact, that is the reason we are all in this forum. Because we love tc's.

What does he want us to say..."awe, gee, we will miss you so much. Do come back and visit us"

Good lord. Great for you. Get a new car and go post in the mazda forum about how you got rid of a tc for the minyata.

I guess people here respect everyone else who drives something different. But, this forum is called "ScionLife" and most people who post here are Scion car enthusiasts. It does feel kinda weird to me when an ex-Scion owner goes off and buys something else and post it on here.

I see your point, but think of this... if you trade in your $16K car for a $25K car, thats normally considered an 'upgrade.' Most reasonable people should be able to say, "The tC is a nice car, but you were able to get something better, so good for you." My tC is in fact a nice car, but if I could afford to get something in the $25-30K range (theres plenty that I'd love to have), I'd get rid of it in a heartbeat.

Also, I don't know about that guy, but on that Tacoma forum I was (well, still am) on, I have nearly 7,300 posts. I've made countless friends with people on that site, and most of the people there know me . If I stopped posting out of thin air, people would wonder. It makes sense, for me at least, to post up and let people that may or may not care whats going on, ya know?

uhm... i don't get it. the tC and mx5 r just 2 different animals. to me, its all about preference and making decisions based on the context you are in. i mean, as much as i love a subie sti or an infiniti fx45, in the situation i'm in, i'm just keeping it real.

I hear the same crap from idiots that say my tC is a chick car. To each their own, I'll drive what I damn well please and not worry about what others think.

Drive what you please...but don't drive around a miata acting like its some sweet street car thinking all the ladies are wanting you. They're just wanting your car.

IMO the tc is a perfect example of Unisex car. Chicks look good in it, dudes look hot (not to me, but you know) as long as they don't rice it out. Much like 2nd gen eclipse, preludes.

major chik cars are (miatas obviously #1) jettas, passats, civics, altima/maximas...anymore???

Until they build a car with a built-in tampon dispenser, there is no TRUE chick car out there. The closest is the New Beetle. As for the guy with the MX-5, good for you. People buy cars based on their own preferences and desires. Obviously the tC wasn't for you, so you traded it in. The tC isn't for everybody, especially not those who enjoy riding around with the windows up and the radio turned off, listening for any random noise that might emit from the vehicle. So enjoy your new car.
