Default Matrix XRS Shift ****

I love the shift **** on Corolla / Matrix XRS 6 Speed, lether wrapped, chrom accented, probably perfectly fit with our current stock shfiter, although it's a 6 speed.
Where can I find a 5 speed version? or something to cover up the 6 speed part?

Im not saying do this, but if you dont care, just go to your local toyota dealer and take one. Only problem is its a 6spd and Tc's are 5 lol. BUT food for thought, as a worker of a Toyota company, we do not leave the shift ***** in.

By the way they are very nice *****

I tried putting a celica GTS leather **** in today, but it was too short, hopefully it will work with my TWM shifter when I get it next week

i got that ****. like it so much better than the obx one and it isnt ice cold in the morning. and yes the 6spd does fool some people. had one guy at the wheel shop try to put it into reverse. now everytime someone else drives it i make sure i put some electrical tape over the numbers.

Hey, I never drove a stick that had that configuration (reverse left and up). I think I'd be nervous at every stop light hoping that I didn't didn't accidentally throw it into reverse when the light turned green.

Anyway, back on topic - I think that **** looks real NICE. If available, I'd definitely go for one, and bonus if they offer it in 5 speed.

So, how much did you pay for it? Do you buy it directly from Toyota dealer or somewhere else?

I thought the R on the left is kind weird too. Don't know how often people mistakenly shift into R instead of 1. I remember some VW cars have that layout too, but you have to push down pretty hard to get it to R. Looks like a lot Toyota 6 speed manual tranny are like that...

didnt have to pay for it, buddy gave it to me from his matrix when he changed to a momo.

you can get it directly from a dealership. i would guess it would be more than $50.

most cars have to push down on the shifter before you can move it into reverse. on BMW;s you just push really hard to the left to get into reverse, but ive accidently went into reverse a couple of times. Mercedes benz actually have to lift the shifter up b4 getting it into reverse. Ive driven the new eclipse at work and it has the same system as a benz. Then there are some cars the have a lever on the shaft of the shifter to get into reverse.

In my friend's focus, he has to pull up on the boot cuff to put it into reverse...even though it's not a 6-speed. Different things for different car makers. I think Toyota, at least on the Celica, you have to push down on the shifter.

isn't that kinda...ghetto? Same with putting a sticker on it or the electric tape. I do like the look though, and I hope someone will make the same in a 5-spd configuration!

Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong, that's just the XRS shifter for the Matrix XRS and Corolla XRS.

The normal 5 speed Corolla and Matrix shfters are just plain jane...

I do like it though w/ the chrome inlay...
