My first tank of gas has been 100% city driving, and I've managed to rack up around 300 miles and I'm still not done yet.

Quick question, how many gallons is the tank? Don't feel like searching through the manual right now.

Thanks

I have about 1600 miles since 7/13 and average 30 mpg 95% highway. The best i had was 33 mpg while driving between 60 and 70 mph...all within 4000rpm. I'm a happy tC owner :D

Hi,
I got 29 MPG on my last tank which was mostly freeway. The first three tanks were 24, 26 and 26 MPG and were more City driving. Oh yeah, and for all four tanks, I was using my air conditioner a lot. -Jayme

First tank was filled up by a dealer - so it does not count, second tank was 25.1mpg, mostly city, and with my complete lack of 5-speed driving skills... I guess it' not too bad, considering it's regular gas and 160hp car...

Gee u guys have a pretty decent MPG. My first gas fill was 300 miles, for 20.6 MPG. Next fill was half tank, 130 miles = 17.9 MPG. The most recent one I forgot to check it out, Mostly this are city driving in Chicago traffic :D.

You divide the total miles driven to the amount of gas you have. Somebody posted how many gallons the TC's tank carries. So I divided 300 miles to that number it came out with that number.

The best way:

1. fill your tank completely
2. move your trip odometer to 0
3. at 1/4 tank, fill your tank completely
4. record the mileage on your trip odometer
5. record the gallons it took to fill the car in #3
6. divide the mileage by the gallons

You don't want to always use 14.5 gallons as most times your are not filling the tank when it is completely empty.

All this plus it's best to fill up at the same gas station and the same pump for ultimate accuracy Different pumps shut off at different fill levels. Actually same pump can shut off at very different levels also - depends how deep the nozzle is in your tank... Too many factors. I have a little Palm program that I type in my mileage, and gallons filled - it calculates average and current MPG - average is the most accurate over time. But I only filled up once

After 1700 miles, the last tank of mixed city and highway came to an average of 26 mpg. This is driving in LA.
