Default Muffler w/ Silencer

Ok guys, I have a question about a universal muffler that a guy is trying to sell me.

(Trust me, I searched first)

I need your opinion on how well a "removable silencer" works. I'm not into the whole exhaust thing, (currently I have a nice chrome tip and that's all,) but I wouldn't mind a little more HP on my slow ___ auto. xB!

If I got one of these mufflers w/ a silencer, is it really silent?

It looks like a good idea, remove it for fun on the weekends, put it on and you're back to "silent" right? I know it sounds too good to be true, but I mean, it's called a "silencer" not a "quieter" it should do something, right?

It's similar to this http://www.4caroption.com/Pdut_detai...CateID=Muffler

Do any of you have one of these? Let me know...

P.S. I don't plan on changing the whole exhaust, just the muffler. And when I say silent, I mean silent! Is a stock muffler really my only option??

Thanks in advance

What I need to know is what kind of transmission do you have? Also how quiet do you want it to be? And if not to quiet, do you want it to just have a deep tone? No other mods either?(I.E. headers, intake) Answer me those questions and I will tell u if it will work right for you.

I have an intake.... Oh, and it's automatic.

All I was curious about was if a so-called "silencer" can really make a muffler silent. I don't care what it sounds like without it...

I'm really not that interested in getting a whole exhaust system... I was just curious if those of you out there that do have high performance mufflers, also have one of those silencers, and if they just quiet it down a little, or make as quiet as stock?

the muffler will not be silent with the silencer in, it will be silent at idle, but around 3800 RPMs the little bit of rice rocket sound will come out. Those small mufflers aren't really made for our cars anyway. You might want to check out our special we have for the automatice scions. :D www.precisionmuffler.com
