Hey, my searcing capabilities are limited on my phone.

My tc won't start. I get power to everything, but it turns over kinda weak and then just clicks. Any suggestions? I don't have any tools down here at school, so I'm going to have to go buy whatever I need.

Should I jump it? Thanks!

 

If it clicks it is probably the battery so try to jump it.

I didn't leave anything on. I still get power to my radar detector and radio. Ill try jumping it in a bit. Thanks.

 

Well it will still give you enough power for the lights and stuff but not enough to get it started.

 

is it stickshift? if so jus push start it, leave it in 2nd have sum1 push the car while ur in it and once u have enough momentum let go of the clutch and give it gas and it will start

what he said about push starting it, just dont forget to turn the key to give it power =]

 

push starting a modern manual with emissions, not such a good idea. just get a jump start, sounds like the battery doesn't have enough juice to start the car.

 

^^Yea I was going to say I thought it was bad to push start our cars, maybe I heard it from you?

 

i had the same problem maybe 3 weeks ago. battery for sure, just like everyone else has mentioned. if it's under warranty, toyota will give you a new battery for free.

 

never had a problem push starting my car or any other. but idk if its bad for it I jus have to do it cause every1's a dick around here to give sum1 a boost

 

i kinda remember i might've said it before. I know that it's in many owner's manuals of newer cars. That the emissions doesn't work correctly and not happy things can result by starting the car without the starter (electrically working). computer gets confused if it doesn't have a starting (Reference) point from which to monitor

 

Ok- I jumped it and it started. 3 hours later it started fine without a jump. Does this mean I need a new battery? I'm going to go get it tested tomorrow I guess. This is on an 05. Thanks for the help guys!

 

yeah the battery probably has a bad cell in it. a load test would show that the battery is bad. an 05? in 09, yeah 4 years is usually when batteries start having trouble and need to be replaced.
