is it THAT bad where it needs to be replaced? i have 2 cracks and 1 chip on my windshield. the chip is right in front of my view, 1 crack is a tad on the right of my view and the other is on the bottom pass side, both no longer than 1'. I got mine drilled and filled with silicone at a local glass shop and have gotten stopped about 3-4 times in my car with zero problems. you really cant see the crack unless you look for one or a light reflection from the sun. it also depends on the state laws because you might not pass inspection, being its Cali i guess thats how they are. you cant do anything to your car over there.
call ur insurance. 99% of full coverage cars get cracks in windshield fixed for FREE. u pay nothing and it does not affect your insurance rate. i know casue it happened to me and it was fixed for free. i have gieco by the way,
i'm assuming that its a fix it ticket for a cracked windshield.
if so get it fixed, find a police officer to sign the ticket after he's verified that it was fixed. send the ticket to the courthouse with the processing fee. it should be like $10.
or you can take the ticket to the courthouse and pay then get a reciept verifying that it was paid.
i'd just go to the courthouse myself.

omg i am never moving to Cali. A CRACKED WINDSHIELD! I am sorry for caps, but that is amazingly dumb. Cali needs to lighten up a bit.

Itd be VERY stupid to not get that fixed...forget about that ticket. If you get in an accident with a windshield like that it weakens the structure of your car, plus it could collapse on impact and seriously injure you.
Pay the ticket, get it fixed. Use some common sense.
