GJPJR, a couple of pages back you have a picture of a strut bar that you had powder coated. Was that a DC Sports bar? How much did the powdercoating run? and what's the badge in your grille?

I know, that's one of the things that irks me about the car.

The spoiler that I got didn't come with the option to shave the brake light. When I had it painted, I asked if he could shave it, and he said that b/c it was thin fiberglass he wouldn't be able to secure the body filler into the area and that eventually it would crack and pop out. I didn't want that to happen. Keeping the third brake light was the lesser of two evils. Besides, I don't have to worry about anyone rear-ending me anymore

How about putting some vinyl overlay that matches the paint.. over the brakelight?..

Neothin,
changed your mind about the brake lights?
what you could do instead of shaving it off of the spoiler, shave it off of the hatch, hhhmm?

Yes i re-powdercoated the DC sports bar. It was $75, it included stripping of the gray powdercoat it comes with, the new powdercoating and a clearcoat.

and the badge is a Transformers Autobot emblem. greatest ever!

i have always loved the transformer stickers but i've never seen anyone with a transformer badge on a car before.

if you don't mind me asking where did you get that badge from and how much??

i just might have to steal your idea from you

car looks good by the way

they are on ebay. about $13 or so.
the guy has Decepticon and Autobot versions available in different colors.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._BIN_Stores_IT

I came across them by accident really.
actually I don't have any reason to explain how or why I found them
I don't do ebay at all. (I used my brother to buy them!)
They were just there on my screen one day like destiny or somethin.

shaving the stock third brake light... bleh. that would involve a complete repaint of the hatch, i don't know if i have the funds/really want to do that. the fact that the car has like 2 different thrid brake light bars does bother me to a certain extent, but not enough to actually pay someone to go and shave one of them off the car.

Woohoo! DC Strut bar is en route. Can't wait to spice up the engine bay a bit (more).

are you running enough pressure in your tires? in that picture of the front passenger wheel, it looks like it's a little low...

oh, and just so you know, there are 2 clips holding the plastic cowling down when you install your strut bar. i forgot about one of them and ripped the cowling up... the second clip went flying and i had to go buy another at the dealer b/c i lost it

I've been thinking that too. I'll check 'em out tomorrow. Though, the tC's fantastic tire pressure monitoring system hasn't warned me of anything! (sarcasm) What PSI am I aiming for? What's written inside my door, or on the tire, or what?

30-35 in a cold tire is what i shoot for

i can't say much though, right now my pressures are all screwed up. it's 35 in the rears, 32 in the driver front, and 24 in the passenger front. i went to the track saturday and down'd the pressure to 24 psi in teh front, and when i was blowing them back up to go home, my little compressor bit the dust and started to smoke and smell like burning plastic. i haven't had the chance to reinflate them yet.

it goes on only when the pressure goes below like 20% (or so) of what it knows they were the last time it was set....

and Sirphobos1:
the picture is a little blurry cause since you didnt use the flash the camera had to keep the shutter open for a little longer to gather enough light it thinks will make the bast picture, and if you move even a little while its open it makes the picture look blurry...
