My previous 2004 Corolla CE 5spd did the 0-60 in 7.9sec. My tC does it in 7.5 sec.

By giving the Corolla an extra 30hp and 30ft-lbs of torque, the tC will be playing catch up!

neither of them are fast anyway, so the tC still wins on being a sleek and sporty coupe.

^^ x2

Does anyone know of the interior space yet? Like is it huge for such small size or what? I still think the tCs interior will be way better ... I like ours, it's very nice!

8.8 seconds for the xrs to make it to 60??? you could give them a whole second headstart and catch them! lol.

Toyota's internal estimates show a 10.4-second 0-60-mph time for an automatic-equipped Corolla with the 1.8-liter engine, an automatic XRS model should need just 8.8 seconds to reach 60 mph (or 8.1 seconds with the manual).
Before the tC came out, I was reading low 8's to 60 estimates. I was surprised to hear that Car and Driver got 7.4

I'll wait until the jury decides.

to let you guys no they showed the new corrolla xrs at sema and if you go to autoblog.com you'll see that the new xrs also comes with the same motor as the tc which is the 2az and they got rid of the 2zz motor it can also be supercharged like the tc also. you guys should check the one out at sema it def doesn't look like that red one and the new xrs looks a lot better then that. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/31/s...orolla-debuts/

2azfe in the new matrix. notice the different engine cover and coolant line connecting the upper radiator hose to the radiator cap. interesting strut bar.
does the new xB have these same changes?

Looks like I am looking at my engine bay. Looks like the intake is the exact same thing as the 08 xB.

Does that strut bar act as a shock?

yea that engine bay is way too small to fit any current tC turbo kits, they would have to be redesigned for pipe fitments too, so that means were are going to have pontiac's (matrix brother) with turbo kits....what is the world coming to, toyota should diss-own the vibe, but that is true are aftermaket parts with live strong through the years for all of us keeping are tc's for a long time (im paying mine off in 2011) might need an engine from a totalled 2009 matrix in 3 years, i mean you still see 1996 civics in HIN winning trophies and you think damn that means its 11 years old lol
