Noise when you start moving... (auto)
I tried searching but I'm not really sure how to explain it
Is is normal that I start my car, reverse out of the parking spot, and put it in drive..... EVERYTIME right when I begin rolling it sounds like a double-click noise..... like uhhhh hard to explain
Kinda sounds like when loose gravel hits the undercarriage. But it is the EXACT same two clicks no matter what when I start rolling in drive.
Even if I don't reverse out of a spot, and just start it and put it in drive..... right when I start rolling it does the "click click" noise.
Is this normal, or should I be concerned? It's done this since I drove it off the lot, and I have less than 2k miles on it with no mods.
Any help would be appreciated!!!! thanks!

I hear it on occasion. Usually after switching gears. Don't know why. I only get one click though. I don't like it. It didn't make that sound through the first 12000 miles. Now its starting to make it.
I experience the same noise. I was concerned enough to take it in to the dealer, only to find out it's the ABS system doing a check. What you are hearing is the caliper piston tapping against the brake pads in rapid succession.
Apparently it's even louder on the 4Runner. So they get a lot of new owners bringing those in as well.
So no need to worry. But don't feel stupid either...

Is THAT what that sound is? I heard it the first time I drove my spanking new tC off the lot. I've been ignoring it as I didn't "feel" anything through the steering (or my butt) so I figured it wasn't all that serious -- and that if it got worse it would be under warranty.
haha yea
the only reason I was concerned about it is because I am installing all my stereo stuff myself..... so I didn't want to get the "voided warranty" excuse if it was a serious problem.....
