Default Is it Normal?

Is it normal for second gear to crunch when you shift into it? I think this has been talked about before but i dont remember what was the problem. I am taking my car to toyota tomorrow for other issues i am having and was wondering should i let them know about this too?

Issues being addressed Tomorrow:

Irratic Idiling issue (drops causing car to shake)
Radio Cover wont open after it's been closed
Second gear crunch?

It is not normal, but it may depend on how you shift and how new your car is. If you slam your shifter into second, then it may crunch. Also, if your tranny is newer, it may not be fully broken in. I just got my car last week (and have put 300 miles on it since) and I have noticed that the shifting is smoother the more miles it gets.

Well mine is 4 months old with 2,800 miles on it. I just barely started noticing the griding when going into second. I will tell them anyways! it's worth a shot! HA!
