the cover for the wiring is coming off. is this a problem that needs to be fixed? the wires are being exposed and i see the colors of the wires. it's not just one area either the tubing for the wire is held together by black tape (which i think is electric tape) and it seems to have come loose several places in the engine. warranty? or should i not be worried or what??

the jacket on most wires can withstand the temperatures inside the engine bay, so that shouldn't be of concern. I wouldn't even waste my time with a dealeship though, just grab some electrical tape and fix it up yourself.

 

Yeah, just grab some electrical tape and re-wrap it yourself. The dealer will prolly take a few days to get done on your car. You can do it yourself in a few minutes.

 

^^ not only that, but the dealer will *hate* you for asking them to do that.

i highly doubt they will give you a rental car because of tape. the car is still drivable... he wont get a rental for that.
