I'll add another vote for a 6th gear or a taller 5th gear. Cruising at 80 mph has the motor spinning around 3500 rpm and 90 mph is right around 4K rpm; makes me feel like I'm on my old motorcycle (obviously I'm exaggerating but you get the idea). Dodging the crazy Michigan drivers requires a good deal of speeding during my commute back and forth from work, so that taller gear would be a nice compromise between speed and gas mileage.

If I get more nitpicky, I would also prefer a cable throttle. I've only had my tC for a little over a week (hit 1000 miles today) and have gotten used to the electronic throttle, so it's not that big a deal.

i think everyone would agree with me on this...

the tC needs a longer redline. it redlines at 6100-6200 rpm. that's pretty low. it doesn't give you much power to rev and let the engine kick in. at least give it 6500-7000 rpm to play with.

its not the artificial rev limiter that causes the low redline. the tC's engine is tuned and timed more for midrange torque than a screaming top end. think about it: the tC's 2.4 liter engine peaks at 160 horsepower, while the 1.8 liter celica engine puts out 180. thats the price we pay for the 163 lb feet of torque we have through the midrange. i think its a worthwhile compromise, it makes the car fun to drive without having to keep the engine running at the limit. but even without a rev limiter youd accelerate faster shifting at 6200 rpm than at 7000. the only thing it might improve is top speed, and i dont really care about that.

as for complaints... i have no probs with the seat belt or steering wheel, but im pretty average height. id looove a power drivers seat, but i realize thatd be extra money. id also like a taller 5th gear, it still feels like its revving too high when im cruising down the highway (i cant imagine how it feels in a 4-speed auto, i'd feel like i was throwing money out the window if my tC was spinning 4,000 rpms at 60 mph).

little minor peeves: itd be nice if the honk would beep real quick when the car is locked/unlocked by remote. i agree with whoever complained about the vents, none of them seem to be placed or aligned properly. and id also like to have some illumination behind the side mirror controls, since i turn down my right side mirror while paralleling to make sure i dont bump my wheel.
