I like the Python 881 XP system. I added the digital tilt sensor, proximity, and a battery to it. It's a pretty full featured setup except I didn't bother to add GPS tracking or Lojack since those options are a little excessive. Hell, I always know when someone walks near my car anyway and it has starter kill to slow a thief down.

My alarm leaves me plenty of time to respond to one of its pages that something is goin down.

scion security, may it be overpriced, is guaranteed by scion. if your car is stolen you get money from scion.

an alarm, no matter how fancy, wont stop anyone who truly wants to get into your car. You can have all the bells and whistles known to man but if its installed like crap, it will get disconnected within minutes.

I recently purchased an 07 Scion tC, 5-speed in the azure color. I don't know if I have the security system or not. I orginally ordered it, but it took 2 months to arrive and by that time I only wanted the fog lights and mud flaps. I can't tell because I don't know if the red blinking light stays on-on all tC's after the doors are locked. Also if you don't have the security system does the regular keys have the door lock and unlock buttons on the keys? Also can a starter be added to a manual car?

Automate is from DEI, its a good system, I'm an MECP certified Installer and would even recommend Automate! Its just a cheaper version of Viper stuff. They used Automate because it integrates nicely with your Scion keyfob. You got something way better then Scion Security, but you did overpay.

Yes, you can get a remote start sytem from Compustar, they are designed for manual vehicles. They have failsafes built-in so that it won't remote start with the car in gear. Hope this helps.
