Pedal issues with my 09 tc

So, I can barely drive my 5 spd tc with my work shoes on. Work (dressy) shoes are fairly chunky rubbery shoes but arent alot bigger than normal shoes. The problem seems to be in the clutch pedal rubber cover. It is VERY rubbery + my chunky rubbery shoes = no sliding of the pedal on the bottom of my shoe as I release the clutch.
Also, my right foot (again with my work shoes on) tends to hit the brake and the gas at the same time because they are spaced so close together.
I only have size 11 foot. Maybe this car is made for little Japanese people or girls but I am a little annoyed by the whole thing. Is this happening with anybody else? I'm an average 5'11 guy no crazy sizes here. Should I just remove the rubber clutch pedal covering?

I have had the same problem in my 07', but they don't sell the tC in Japan, but that doesn't mean the people testing them weren't little Japanese guys.
I've driven with tennis shoes and changed when I got to work before. That or just get used to it. Whatever you do, don't try to drive your car with clunky work boots. My dad did just that right when he got off his Harley and he made the mistake and burning tires through 2 gears, on accident of course (so he says).

I would like to drive barefoot or w/socks but it just isnt convenient. I guess on my next pair of work shoes I'll get something smaller and less chunky.
My well worn in regular old tennis shoes do quite fine. I haven't barefooted it yet but I will soon.
Is the footwell small or is it just me or what? When I press the clutch with my foot, I am really pressing the clutch arm and not all that much the clutch pad!! Huh? I dont think it should be like that. I've never had this issue before.

And you know what they say about people who wear size 15.

no, big socks!! LOL
ull get used to it, happens to every new tC owner, its a fact of life
or just get different pedal covers, or u can even try removing the factory rubber cover that comes on the pedal

No offense, but you guys on this site have a wierd fetish of leaving a question mark at the end of your non-question sentences.
Back on topic. Take off my shoes every time I go to work and drive back home? Doesnt that seem like a huge PITA?
I'll try removing the rubbery clutch pedal covering and go from there. I was mainly interested in seeing if anyone else had experience this as a problem.

Another thing you could do is put some armor all or something that will slick en up the pedal.
I got my car detailed before and they put some crazy stuff on the mats.
But you will get used to the pedals with out a doubt.

(I was at work when I typed up this thread)
On the way home, I discovered it does help if you off-center your foot on the pedal. position it towards the right instead of dead on. Seems to help a bit. Taking the pedal cover off didnt really do anything. My chunky Sketchers are just too grippy.
