Center console is a _____ to do. The LCD is not socketed like it is in the gauge cluster. The shroud that surrounds the LCD also surrounds the LCD leads. You can't simply bend back the LCD, you will have to desolder it from the board to get at the LEDs beneath.

Well, when I tried looking at it, I can't. Cause let's see the site where the pics are from, is banned here on the base. Have to wait til I get to my dorm room where it isn't banned at all.

I wanted to do this because i thought it would look good, but never could find the time. Those pics will make me find it!

Nice Job, TimO. I agree with everyone else, post up a how-to to show us some of the finer points.

Damn that's nice. I've been wanting to do that for a while. After seeing those pics, I don't think I'll wait too much longer. Damn amber lights!

I was going to keep the yellow indicators, the hazard light, the passenger seatbelt, and engine immobilzer light stock. I like the stock AC control back light as it changes from red to blue as you turn the ****.

For the rest, I will change the 9 button LEDs and the 3 backlight LEDs for the LCD. I am going to go for red illumination.

Oh and you can switch out the cubby hole light with an LED to match the rest of your illumination. The stock bulb is incandescent, but you can drop in an LED replacement bulb that has the proper wedge base. If you search, you can find my last post about it.

Good luck and let us know how the AC cluster turns out.

surface mount LED's right? what wattage soldering iron did you use for that??

I think it looks GREAT! now all someone has to work on is multicolor LED's that we can change on the fly... but great job on yours! that's a good look, love the blue!

the wattage of the iron can effect the parts if you have to high of a wattage you can cook some cencitve parts like the screen for "tripometer" (i guess thats what its called)

I would love to do something nice like that.. but lets just say im not the handiest guy heh.. On another note, is it possible to use those what people call "Led Condoms" which are those little slip things that you just slip over the LED to change the color. Would it be possible to use them rather than do the soldering and everything?
