Default Please Help....Repeat Question...NOT!

Anyone in this forum encountered a hostile responce to a question they posted just because it was addressed in a thread 6 months ago....or on several occasions?

I have to say....

1) A large portion of you all are hateful on PURPOSE.

2) Being hateful on purpose is PUNK. End of story.

3) If you have nothing to add that is constructive, keep your mouth SHUT! The only people you are amusing are your fellow punks.

4) If all you are out to do is flame people for their posts, perhaps you should take up another hobby....like throwing rocks at passing traffic. (same concept, only someone will eventually catch you and kick your punk butt!)

5) If you (or the administrators) don't like my comments, you can delete me from SL....cause quite frankly...I'm sick of the crap.

Some of these people come to you in hopes of help. But what they find, instead, is ridicule and jokes. SO WHAT if it's been posted before!!!! Kindly direct them in the proper direction. Is that so hard? All you are doing is driving people away from here. Talk about self-defeating! If you can help....HELP....if you can't....or won't....then just don't post.

I wager there have been more posts flaming repeat questions than there have been repeat questions.....any takers?

We need to come together....or dissolve....agreed?

I dont see it as being a "punk" out of hate. I see it as just being more independent. Theres no need to create a new thread when there has been a previous thread on the very same topic.

I think people who starts new thread without search just want everything handed to them. Its kind of like a course you take in college where the prof. hardly actually lectures and teach. And you take the responsibility into your own hands to learn the material.

Unless of course you want everything handed to u in life. ;)

THAT is a gross assumption...and you know it. As it is to assume that everyone that asks a question from the forum is an idiot. I have searched....and found asnswers...but I do not put down people that haven't discovered their answers....due to laziness or uniqueness. Who STAYS here long enough to discern between the two?

well people have their own opinions as to how to teach other how to search. and yes as o5trdtc said, its life, nothing is handed to you so easily unlessu search on ur own. no need to create a post getting mad about those people. its ur opinion so dont tell us to keep our mouths shut.

I'm not fussing at you....unless you are outwardly hateful to people looking for your help. And if you are? I don't wish to associate with you anyway.

Cause you'll never be trustworthy anyway.

I was not being "MEAN" i was just stating my opinion just like how u did on the opening post. In fact your the one who's "MEAN" tell others to shut their mounts.

If you hate SL and SL members so much, no one is forcing you to stay here. There are plenty of other scion websites.

My "MOUNT" is speaking for all the people that I have been beat-down for asking the simple questons.

YES---I know they've been asked 500 times. But there is a kinder way of telling them....like a IM. NOT flaming them in an open forum they are newly asking for help in!!!!

You people are not seeing the forest for the trees.

You tend to judge people so quickly and then categorize. I have post several helpful post and frequently SL members AIM me lots of questions and I always take my time to answer them.

I have to agree with paulky on this one.

I would say EVERYTHING that could ever be asked or talked about a scion has been talked about on SL, so does this mean we stop posting any new threads, since we can just search for them?

And there is no reason to be mean to people who post redundant threads. Just go on to the next thread if you dont want to answer it. Its not like the question being asked again is going to hurt anything.

And if they do search and go to a thread from 2005 and still have a question about it, they will be rideculed for bumping an old thread.
Darned if they do, darned if they dont.

You are agreeing with this type of treatment....I'm NOT judging you.

Sometimes, 05, THAT is the problem....

I'm not looking to ____ anyone off. I can do that with a lot less feedback! LOL!!

I'm just pleading for a bit more understanding from the wiser...(and older) SL members to handle things with more tact.

I have to agree also. When somebody asks a question, only to have somebody "YELL" back to search, that's lame. If the 'search' feature was more user-friendly, then yes- by all means use the feature. I remember when I first tried to search on SL. What a nightmare! It took nights of practice before I 'figured out' how to search properly.

I can understand if it's something that can be looked up in the manual. (Yeah, that black thing in your glove box, you should open it up and read it sometime. ) But too many people are eager to jump on the 'noob' questions asked around here and tell people to search. I'm guilty as well, but I usually do mine in a joking manner with emoticons to convey my silliness/sarcasm.

I thought we were all here to help each other out? Maybe SL has peaked and now the downward spiral is occurring.

Well said Hyghgynx. I just think we need to be a bit more tolerant of newcomers. After all....weren't we all new at one time or another?

BE NICE

i agree with the fact that it is truly senseless to flame people just because they didn't search...but i don't see any problem with simply telling them to search and that's it...because they need to learn how to use this forum properly as is stated in the rules and regulations when you first sign up...i would say that maybe 10% of SL users actually take a look at the rules/regulations agreement when they sign on and just as the question without looking because that IS lazy! I'm guilty of doing as well as 99% of people on here...but i expect people to come at me and tell me to search...

another thing that you must keep in mind though, is that this is a public forum and everybody has an opinion and will tend to post it...that's part of being on a public forum...if you don't like it that much, start a private forum, or find one that suits you best
