Everyone jus needs to Calm Down. It's a public forum for crying out loud. There are gonna be conflicting opinions on just about every topic out there, sum you agree with & sum that you dont agree with.

Besides the "SEARCH" engine is not an exact science!

 

There are a variety of possible responses, such as:

1) WTF!! SEARCH n00b!!

2) No.

3) Yeah, also get some eBay "Altezza/JDM/Euro/Snazzy-super-ultra-mega-deluxe taillights and 1800000K HIDs and you will have 1.21 gigawatts of Honda conquering horsepower and the chicks will be all over you dude!

None of these are correct however and should not be indicitave of actual responses to similar posts on SL. My examples have varying degrees of sarcasm from "heavy" to "rediculous" to "ludicrous".

By the way, the search function is not fool-proof, so Im tolerant of posts of what should be easy questions.

 

I may get flammed for this one, but what the heck... this seemz like a good thread to get flammed on anyway!

Everyone that knows SL knows about all the threads there has been in the past about "Flamming"...

... but yet if you type in the word "flamming" in the "Search" engine, you get 29 results. How stupid is that???

Hundreds & hundreds of posts where flamming has become a topic and the wonderful "search" toolbar that everyone raves about comes up with 29 results.

SO, FLAME ON.

well mostly all the flamming threads have been either locked or deleted so u wont see it. but its been out there and SL'ers know it.

 

hmm.. well.. proper spelling would definitely help in searching..
there's 599 matches that i see...
this is a public forum, where free speech does not apply... however order is something that mods must maintain and i have not hesitated to stop threads from further burning other individuals

but to really PREVENT that from ever happening in the first place... newer individuals MUST make some effort upon themselves to learn how the forum operates (whatever one it may be) and like i mentioned earlier... DO NOT make yourself stand out and showcase yourself as a noob.

making new threads asking questions that have been asked before accomplishes just that... and yes, there are MANY people on this forum tired of seeing it after they've answered it the first few hundred times already...

the search engine sucks BECAUSE of noobs flooding it with threads... so when newer people complain about it and decide to start another thread regardless.. that's when more people start getting angry... and the rampant cycle just continues further.

^^Point well taken. I agree the new affiliates should utilize the search engine. They just need to be directed to do so in a courteous manner.

IMO, especially seen as how im probably one of those people you are talking about,

i would MUCH rather see a thread from 2005 pop up and have a new member ask a questions in that thread and giving it a 2 year bump then start a BRAND new one.

ie. i would LOVE to see someone bump the Intake or Header or Exhaust dyno thread that a company did for scionlife that shows the comparison between the 3-4 most popular I/H/E combos instead of a new thread askin "HoW mUcH Hp wIlL i GeT frUm Dis HeAdErs yO!?" you know what i mean? im so blunt on being rude sometimes to get a point across, i mean its right there at the top of the page, and i've said it before scionlife didnt add the search button at the top of the page cus its pretty.

plus idk if you have taken a look at SL recently, but 90% of the new threads out there, have been discussed before already at least 3-5 times over again, and being a member since May 05 it can be pretty annoying condidering i can use the search feature and type in their EXACT question and come up with a dozen results. im not flaming just informing.
