Default Pre-buying info? (paint color related)

Off to the dealer tomorrow to pickup my (planned Indigo Blue tC). Though the blue appeals to me, i'm more or less still attracted to white or silver (my F-150 is white). Becuase of the dirt roads where i live, would blue show more dirt than white would?

Also, another unrelated question: any options worth considering adding in before i sign by the X?

i would think the white would show more dirt than blue would. I think FM would hide the dirt the best since its a greyish color. anyone else have any experience with this?

Most people would automatically think that white will show the most dirt, since that's what happens with clothes. However, with cars, it's just the opposite. Dark colors like Indigo Ink Pearl and Black Sand Pearl will show every speck of dust that is on them and every tiny surface scratch. Why? Because the dust and the metal below that surface scratch are very light in color. They sit on the dark color and create a contrast. If you have a lot of dirt roads, I'd suggest white or silver as opposed to blue. I've got an IIP tC right now, and I am washing it at least weekly, usually more. I could get by much longer without washing my silver Grand Prix or white Escort. My dark red Cougar? Filthy. I LOVE the color of my car, but for practical purposes (as opposed to aesthetic) I wish I had gone with silver. Silver just hides those tiny flaws and dirt much, much better.

Mud will show up no matter what the color is. Black, white, silver, blue, bleen, whatever, mud shows up because it is thick and dark. Brown might hide it ok, until it dries and lightens in color. Dirt (which I think of the same as dust from a gravel road, etc.) will still show less on a lighter-colored car. If you live in a hot climate, that's another reason why you'll want a lighter car. Even with black leather, my silver Grand Prix never got too hot to sit in.

I'm happy with my Indigo Ink Blue. I have the Auto Armor coating too which makes it even more glossy. It still shines pretty good even when a little dirty. If you live anywhere near or drive on dirt roads it's kinda hopeless no matter what color it is. I wouldn't buy any add ons from the dealer. Get them elsewhere for cheaper. I got the nice car mats and that's it.

From My Scions... Go lighter.

BSP shows dirt and every little surface scratch their is...

If you want amazing reflectiveness go darker, but realize you'll have to put in the time on keeping it nice and pretty.

As far as anything before signing the X....

Really dodge getting too many accessories at the dealer... You can find ALMOST everything online for much cheaper and depending on your expertise, install most things yourself. I've saved over 1000 easy on mods by buying them online and installing them in my own garage.

when you go outside, look at the white and silver cars and see how they appear far less dirty than the darker cars parked around them. but clean, nothing beats the blue or the darker colors, imo. it takes more work to keep the blue looking good but it's worth it.

White shows the least dirt, black, flint, and blue show the most, period end of discussion. I have a flint mica, wash it every week, but its worth it!!
