Actually, I may do that. (have the dealer do it, that is). They have to install something next week, so i'll just get them to do it then.

But, how does one go about doing it with a hairdryer? (Sorry, i'm a real novice when it comes to anything with cars)

a hairdryer focused on the decal.. get it nice and hot.. taking your fingernail you can usually peal it off.. then use some soap and water to get rid of the adhesive.. warning!! it gets really hot

I would suggest using a fingernail first. If that doesn't work and it's more like an emblem than it is a vinyl decal and the nail doesn't work then you can also use dental floss to get it off.

To get rid of the adhesive the easiest thing is to head to the local auto store and buy a small bottle of 3M adhesive/wax remover and it will take it off with one to two applications. Wash the car when you're done and remember to wax the specific spot since the 3M liquid strips all of the wax that used to be there.

A stupid question is the one that is not asked.
