Default problem with fan/air/vent directing thingymaajiger and more.

so when i put the AC up to full blast, the air vent on the drivers left side tends to move to the right like its closing, you know how you can move from left to right for which direction you want air to shoot out, well if i put it towards the right so that it can aim at me whileim driving, it tends to go ALL THE WAY to the right as if its closing because the air is shooting out so fast. i can only keep it centered but that just blows toward my arm, i dont know, weak material or something, your thoughts?

also, i took my tc back to the dealership awhile ago to get the extra power outlet in the center glove compartment fixed because it stopped working, but they never fixed the problem because they said that the fuse for that is on NATIONAL BACK ORDER, wtf is that?

to fix ur first issue, try reducing fan speed, or under mode hit bi level so it blows on your feet and body, this will reduce the pressure on the front vents. This could be a design issue, but since ur having air blast so fast it's moving the vents...try taking it to the dealer and see what they say.

as far as ur other issue

i have the same problem, more or less at all speeds. the slower it goes, the longer it takes, but it does tend to favor the extremes if you let it go long enough. i dunno... probably a design thing, but i'm just happy i don't have a sunroof issue

okay old post, but I noticed the same problem about the air vents moving by itself. Anyone have any updates on this issue? Did the dealer replace anything? I dont want to waste my time bringing it in and not having them fix anything... Thanks.

Yea, I had the same issue with the Drivers side vent, Of course i took it into toyota and they "Could Not Duplicate The Issue" So of course I was mad...so i took the service tech who supposivly said he couldnt rduplicate the problem and the manager in the car with me for a little ride....sure enough about 4 seconds after pulling out of the driveway with the ac on full blas the vent moves.....case closed tech felt stupid manager was mad...and a new vent was ordered for me. =o)

Haven't had the problem since.
