i open up my door and look out when backing up sometimes. tint and the pedestal spoiler blocks my view. plus, the tc doesnt exactly have the best back window in terms of being able to see whats right behind you.

and tint is a great mod by the way, it makes a good dramatic change in the way the car looks for not that much money AND it protects your interior from harmful UV rays. its not like i have anything to worry about anyways! i keep a heavy coat of uv protectant on EVERYTHING. the plastic in the car looks so much better when its shiny. i even put the uv stuff on the seats. it gets the greyish stains off and makes them look really black. they clean up nice.

Do 5% on the Hatch and 35% on the other 4 windows. Being that the Hatch is darker wiil make the other windows look darker also. I wish I would have done that. I did 20% Hatch and 35% all around. It's still nice, I just wish I would have done the Hatch darker is all.

Alright everyone thanks for your opinions. I think I'm going go with 5% on the hatch and then 35% on the other 4 windows.

you can go with 5% on the rear window and both rear corners then 35% on the front 2, that is legal... I am going to go 5% on the rears and for the doors 20%... that way it is still dark but doesn't say hey I am driving illegal im so dark lol... oh and you have a pm shake!

^^The uneven tint disrupts the clean lines of the tC. Do the 4 windows the same % and the hatch darker.

I got 20% on mine. I think it turned out pretty good. But I understand about the cop thing. they just started the tint law up again in Ga.

Yeah, I like the 20% on the sides. I just don't want to have to worry about getting pulled over all the time. Here in st. charles/st. louis I'm always hearing about people having to go back to the shop and get their tints changed. I don't want to have to spend more money to get mine changed all the time. Thanks again for all the advice though.

Have fun always being paranoid about cops. I used to have 18% all around (including the windshield) and the LAPD were always giving me a hard time. The only way to go anywhere without being hassled by the po-po was to drive with the windows down, which sucks in the winter. I eventually caved and went with 50% up front after my last tint ticket. I don't feel so much like a pimp anymore, but I feel much much better when cops drive past and they don't pull me over.

Here's what I used to have...

damn the law, that car looks like it should. freakin cool.

If you have a darker car, then a 35% tint will look great. The tC is dark inside so if you have the dark outside the tint will make everything look even darker!

It looks silly when I see a tC that has the driver and passenger windows lighter than the rear 3. It looks like the tint job wasn't finished. If you tint the front 4 windows all the same %, it flows nice and clean and LOOKS (not performs ) like a luxury car. How many BMWs, Mercedes, etc do you see with uneven tint? Just my 2 bits.

FYI: i got 15 all around....looks sick. but now after 2 years of no trouble, i get hassled by cops like once a month.

the cop who pulled me over said if it looks to be less than 20-25ish they will pull u over. if its at 30, they generally won't bother you. at least in PA.

bottom line: pay attention to your states' laws. its not worth getting hassled.

I think the factory tint is in the glass.
I originally had dark tint when I first got my car,
got pulled over the second I pulled out the driveway, so I took off the front and rear side tint.

I was afraid of peeling off the factory tint, but it looks like factory tint is permanently fixed into the window.

factory tint, doesnt even look like tint, it looks like it just turns the glass light green

rod c, got any pics of the 50% tint?

the thing about uneven tint, is that even if you get even dark tint all around, the front side windows will always look lighter, and look uneven because light enters the fron windshield and not in the rear.

the reason I took off both the fornt and rear sides, was because the car looked stupid with no tint on the front and dark tint on the rear. So I just took both off.
