magnetic oil plug? wtf? that's the lamest thing I've ever heard of. is that so when you drop it in the pan of oil you could just use a piece of iron to fish it out? I doubt in anything measureable these two things will help you.

yeah, magnetic oil plugs are for the sole purpose of easier removal when dropped in the old oil pan.

it's meant to attract pieces of metal floating around in your oil and keep them from circulating in your engine.

yup

they are not on only fast cars, most cars have this.

although, if the oil flows fast enough, it will just pull the metal peices right off the magnet. None of the magnetic oil plugs i've ever seen are very strong.

First of all, does anyone know if our car actually has this? Second off, saying "fast" cars have it sounds pretty um... i don't want to say dumb, but something like that. If anything, it would be newer cars - not fast cars. And frankly oil would have to be flowing pretty damn fast to rip little metal shavings off of any decent magnet. If there are no shavings there, how do you know there aren't just not any shavings in the oil?

you have to figure in that the oil is under a certain amount of pressure too.
my friend's lincoln ls has a magnetic oil plug. i think it's a decent thing to have, wouldn't hurt to have it.

although, your oil filter does serve a purpose, if it wasn't meant to catch metal shavings and a magnetic plug was, what good is an oil filter?

no need to call me dumb. then you are dumb by saying "And frankly oil would have to be flowing pretty damn fast to rip little metal shavings off of any decent magnet. " hence "fast cars." stock cars, indy cars etc. etc. etc....

that's exactly what an oil filter is for. and I already have one of those. this plug is a rip-off, but feel free to buy one. I also have some JDM blinker fluid you should look into. the domestic blinkers just don't work that well without it.

*opens hood* omg... wtf... *looks at the old radiator cap compared to the new one...*

well... the TRD radiator cap says TRD on the sticker.... BUT THEY'RE BOTH ALUMINUM!!!! GRRRRR WHY didn't I CHECK FIRST???

*smacks himself smarter*

the radiator cap is supposed to increase the pressure in the radiator hence raising the boiling point of the fluid....why you need this? If your gonna run a hot engine because of mods then this is handy, if you want specifics on this ask some body who knows alot about engine dynamics like enginefeneer or oldman hehe.
