Default Rattle Coming from Moon Roof Help!

Well I went to the dealer to day to set up an appointment for them to check it out. Well one of the guys said it might have been my subs that made the bolts loose? Anyways then he goes “off oh im sorry that’s not covered under warranty, were going to need charge you a fee!!!!” im like what the F!!!! . They haven’t even checked it out yet and there rushing to conclusions. BS!
First of all I had subs in my car for like 4 months now and I haven’t herded a single rattle till now.

What should I do?

1) Print out as much information about roof problems from nhtsa.gov, esp. the fact that they are investigating the problem.

2) Ask your scion tc salesperson to talk to them.

3) They can guess all they want how they may have come loose, but they cannot prove anything. However, what you can do is prove that the noise is occuring, it should not be, and your car is under warranty.

4) Call toyota corporate, they will tell them something.

Unfortunately, going back prolly won't help. You really should have printed everything out, first talk to your salesperson and had toyota corporate on your speed dial so you can do it all there infront of their face.

You still need to prepare properly, and now go to a dealership that isn't a stealership. I would file a complaint with the BBB and tell Toyota corp about the other one... you will get attention, but would you really want to go back there after that with your precious scion?

oh yeah, you can also tell them that this could be a sign or advanced warning that the roof could shatter. Ask them to write their recommendation of what you should do, and that is not covered under warranty, and that they sign their name on there. Tell them you are going to get this fixed somewhere else because it is under warranty, and tell them you will make an appointment and show this (their recommendation with name) to the toyota regional manager to make them a bit sweaty and worried. (but truthfully, regional manager prolly won't do nothing, and it takes 30 to 60 days 'till he sees you.

Also, if your insurance agent is friendly, he could also try to talk to them for you, stating that in his opinion, there is no way subs can cause that, and that they should fix that. They might take him more seriously. Man, I am out of options for now.
