Default Replacement Key Questions

When i got my tC 3 months ago the dealer gave me 2 keys and a valet. Someone in my house that won't fess up "misplaced" my spare. I read somewhere about the dealer cangive you up to five keys... Also read somehere on here that keys cost around $200. So will I have to pay for a new key so I canhave a spare? Thanks.

yes, you'll have to pay for a new key. The dealer will not just give you one, lol. There have been a few blanks on ebay, for much cheaper, but I don't know much trouble you'd hae to go through to get it cut/programmed.

You can use the valet key as a spare, you just wont have the buttons. Or, just never lock your keys in your car and you won'y need a spare.

If you get a key on Ebay make sure its a scion made key!! Getting it cut can be done at a local hardware store I assume. Getting it programmed to the car is another story. Without the programming to the car it will not start it.

I'm sure the functionality is covered, but I don't know about the "looks" of the buttons.
