Default resetting the tpms

for some odd reason this morning I got in my car and the tpms light stayed on,
got out and did a physical inspection and all the tires seemed ok...

I'm going to have my oil changed today so I guess i'll have toyota inspect and reset but for the future, I know the switch is in the glovebox. whats the protocol for doing it yourself??

Have you checked your air pressures? Thats why your light is on, tires can "look" ok and only be 1 pound under spec, thus setting off your TPMS.

As far as the procedure, look in your manual.

found this doing a quick search.

might be a bad sensor if the pressure is ok

32/29 front/rear

check pressures.. hold button while key is in the on position until light flashes 3 times.. light should turn off after.

if not. you got a problem. inspect tires for screws, nails.. etc..
check pressures, try again, if still fails... dealership time.
