I was thinking that since I have an aftermarket intake, i would be able to cool down the air much more with this idea I just had an idea.

Take a Cry02 kit and instead of using it for an intercooler, custom fabricate a piece to hug around the intake, and spray it then. So the air is just much colder, and no spray is going into the engine. Just a quick thought. Haven't really had time to think about the design or how/if it would benefit at all.

ideally you would probably want it to spray on the intake manifold and not the intake piping. You would also want a full CAI so it doesn't pull the CO2 from the engine bay into the motor. Other than that I think it would work but be ultimately pointless. The idea has been used for years for drag racers to cool down engine temps in between runs with ice. It may give 0.05 seconds in the quarter mile but its effect would most likely be negligible compared to everything else that puts tolerances into a quarter mile time in a street car.

even though the cry02 kit makes super awesome sense in practice its actually really hard to make it work right..

the idea sounds good but i think you might crack the intake.. the CO2 is going to be so close to the pipe it might damage it...

Not worth the effort on just an intake. If you were to do it, it would have to be on the piping or behind the filter.

i think to make it work you would probly have to custom fab some piping, either that or chop up a cai and add the cry02 section in the middle. but not sure what the gains would be on a NA setup.

I am. I wasn't actually gonna try it. I was just curious about what would happen.
