Trust me, if you escalate this high enough, you'll be taken care of. $600 is nothing when weighed against reputation of the Scion brand. Usually Scion Corp will just bring the hammer down on the dealership and that'll be that. I expect the GM will take care of it, though. His job is to satisfy his customers no matter what (as long as you're not totally out of reason), plus he knows if you go to Scion they'll just tell him to do it anyways. Such is the life of a manager hehehe!

I would say just get the money..
I mean why would you want to get 9 month used Pirellis ? Honestly i would not want that.. If i used Toyo's for 9 month and was satisfied and never realized they were not what they supposed to be...( just because they performed well) i would stay with toyo's and just get the money difference.. and call it a day.

Dont forget to look at it though from a treadwear standpoiint. The pirellis I believer are like a 420 and the Proxies are around a 230~ i think. Thats actually one of the reasons I went with the pirellis when I got mine because the treadlife was so freaking high on them. You may wanna look it up to be exact. How many miles are on your car that you need new tires by the way?

hey stone163-
I've had both the pirellis that you're trying to get and have had the toyo proxes4 that you have now. You're going to be very disappointed with the new pirellis! the toyo proxes4 is a MUCH better tire. Price does not equal performance! And treadwear? the Proxes4 now is wearing much better than the pirellis EVER did! And no i'm not rough on my tires either.

About the differences in price, if they charged you the pirelli prices for the Toyo Proxes4, then yes they OWE you the difference in price. The difference between the two was like 30 a tire.

You do what you want to, because we can talk all day and tell you things, but sounds like you'll try to get the Pirelli Tires based on principle. I agree you should get the price difference, but actually you received a MUCH better tire with the proxes4!

The dealership called and after some talking with the customer service manager, they cut me a check for the difference in price between the tires. They wanted to give me store credit, but when I asked about them about them installing a short shifter, which they refused, I told them I'll take the money instead and they cut the check which I received today.

glad to hear you got the difference in money! Yeah after them not wanting to pay for the short shifter, take the check and run!

Not that they didn't want to pay for the short shifter, they didn't want to install any short shifter other than the trd. I already bought the twm stage2 and now am in the process of locating someone to install since the dealership declined.
