We call honda modders "ricers," but technically, since the Tc is built 100% in Japan, any type of modding to the Tc would make it a "ricer." Right??

Thats just how i see it. Unless theres a set of rules that governs a "ricer," and not just a stereotype that "ricers" are asian tuners, then i would like to be enlightened.

Also, as of now i have a bone stock 06' Tc, and any modding that im thinking of doing for it will be done by my own hands. Plus ive gotten nothing but good comments from friends and strangers about my Tc.

you wanna know whats in my school parking lot? 200 big, old trucks except ONE new dodge ram 1500, two 2003 Celicas, 2004 Mustang, 69 Corvette, 70 somethin Chevelle, 2000 Civic with body kit and mesh wiring dangling everywhere and broken altezzas in back. 2001 Civic(Real Light Blue Pearl) with body kit and light blue tinted windows--real clean looking except his rusty exhaust. and then my 1982 Mazda RX-7....and here's the kicker---besides the trucks, blue civic, my car...the drivers are girls(and i know some girls can drive...but these girls??? gah! ) all the tuners here are pretty much out of high school so i don't get the look from the "ricers" with my RX-7...

But, the CRX seems to be really fast but most likely because it has almost everything inside of it taken out

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or whatever, I think people who wear those stupid car shirts and drift t-shirts just look like a frkn retard. If you're gonna express your passion for cars, don't do it in a some type of clothing, but in your car.

Strong opinion there.

Do people who wear red sox hats that don't actually play for the sox look like retards too?
How about those who wear brand names on their clothings. If they dont actually work for those companies or in the fashion industry, they have no right to wear those clothes?

Numerous times I've been eyed by the "Ricers" at my local track. But one thing that I have to agree with is that most of the eye balling does come from the Honda people. I did my quarter mile run while I had friends video taping and I hear people asking what kinda car is that and who makes it. Only a few people had ever said its a stupid scion. But then again there is a reason why they are in the bleechers right? The main reason I figure that honda people get called the ricers is simply because all the little kiddies get that as their first car and think they are all brian earl spilner.....

This thread is going to end up causing a lot of tension between members. The term "ricer" no longer holds it's meaning in the sport compact community in my area anymore.

Before I left the honda scene, specifically team-integra.net, one thing we do not talk about or mention is the term ricer and "that movie" you know which one I type of. Instead I have come to understand that it is not my car. It's their's and it is only their sole decision to modify it in anyway that pleases them. Now as for the attitude, I still have no idea. Maybe all the eye-balling is because of admiration? A Toyota well under 20K with the power and luxery to boot. Now with the aftermarket pumping out new products, who wouldn't be giving you or your Scion looks?

I don't know if either of you were kidding, but when I am President, both of you are getting drug into the street and shot.

i may be able to explain what's going on here, because i was in the same situation as you when i was in high school... except that i was on the other side of things. Your 17, right? and you drive a brand new car. i'm gonna assume, since you're so young, that your parents bought the car for you. now, the people that you're describing seem to drive cars that aren't so nice, ex: CRX with paint chipping. however, i'm willing to bet that, that guy payed for HIS car, with HIS money. that is why they eye you, and call you a ricer. purely for the fact that you drive this brand new car around like it belongs to you, when in reality it belongs to your parents. I was that other guy back in high school. i drove a '95 Ford Escort (that i worked my ___ off for), and absolutely hated all the rich mother____ers who's parents bought them brand new cars, and payed for all the mods to it. So here's my suggestion on how to be on better terms with these guys: compliment their rides once in awhile or simply talk about cars with them. Ask them what mods they have done and what they plain on doing in the future. So maybe they're not as fortunate as you, but y'all still have a common interest...
