I think the absence of the logo on the grille SAYS its the RS 1.0.

Someone will make an aftermarket replica of this grill, sell it for 200 bucks, and then scion will have missed an opportunity to give people what they want. Hell, I'd be happy if they'd sell a blacked out PLASTIC one without the emblem.

The blacked out grill was something many of us wanted from day one. Why a company didn't step up to the plate and make one? Its a mystery.
With your logic all those xA owners who have blacked out grills are attempting to be RS 1 xAs.
They're not, we're not.
Done.
Oh yeah, I am not trying to make my car a Honda S2000 or Element because I use the same antenna.

Since when is it wrong for a car company to put what "they" want into the cars?
I think Scion users are getting spoiled with thinking that they are the ones who are to dictate what goes in the Scions and what doesn't. I know that Scion prides itself for allowing owners to customize their cars, but it has to stop somewhere.
Its a grille people. If Scion wanted everyone to have the option of a grille with or without a logo, don't you think they would have done so already?

Scions marketing plan involves giving the owner the ability to customize their vehicle. They supply an ample amount of products to mod the cars. They didn't make a blackout grill for the xA, another company did. Why? Because of demand. From the initial release of the tC people have wanted a blacked out front grill. Demand.
Why wouldn't Toyota/Scion want the money from this demand?

If logic stands and we can customize our cars as we want, then why arent people complaining that Scion doesnt offer a red color paint for non RS cars?
Its the same principle. They want that available only for RS owners. I can atleast respect that.

Are you kidding? Paint?
Paint is not an option. Can you buy the car w/o paint?
You can go get a tC painted with the same paint code as the red used by Scion. Would it be expensive all things equal compared to the cost of the grill as quoted earlier in this thread? No.
Something like the fabric is much more exclusive to the RS1. Oh wait, they took the fabric from the xA RS1. It doesn't make the tC an xA wanna-be though.
Are we done with this argument? Too many people asked about blacked out grills right after the tC came out. Low and behold Scion releases a tC with a blacked out grill. Now they want to charge an arm and leg for it. Some other company or individual will make one and reap the profits.
I fear for those with RS1's if they get in a fender bender or someone does actually steal their grill. Not condoning or implying anything here.

I just want to confirm that buy purchasing said grill, it not only looks stylish but provides endless BJ's while driving right?
And I'm guessing if it doesn't put you on the receiving side of unlimited BJ's by paying that much your choosing to just take it in the @$$!
