Default RS3 Wind Noise Possible Recall

I just wanted to let everyone know that the lip kit for the Release Series 3.0 creates a noticeable wind whistle at highway speeds. I took my car to the dealer and they told me that the kit somehow directs wind into the hood and creates the noise. As of yet there is no fix. There has been a "case" opened through the Toyota dealerships in order to find a solution. If anyone has had a similar problems post any information as it may be of use.

that F,n sucks. and i wanted to get the rs3 front lip.
The only possible fix i can think of is something with the side holes air passages. maybe air is getting trapped in there too much since it comes out more and making a noise similair to blowing into an empty jug or bottle.

Yeah, there's def a whistle. I noticed it the first day. No prob though, just turn up the music.
If it's those side holes that's the problem, you think taking off the plastic vent covers on the inside would help?

I have the same problem. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was the windshield so they resealed the whole windshield which didn't work. Then i noticed the gap between the headlights and the bumper thinking that was it. i took off the front bumper and was able to close the gap a little. still whistling. Shoulda kept my '06 tc.

i heard from the dealer that this was a common tC problem, but maybe this is a totally seperate issue.

It is definitely noticeable, but as stated above, livable with the radio up. The dealership was able to solve the problem by taping the gap between the hood and grill, but that is obviously not a solution. I don't know how much I actually trust their reasoning, but they think they might be able to slightly change the hood angle in order to shrink the gap. As of now, this is all speculation, the numerous dealerships around the company are in contact with one another working to find a fix.

Actually, my 06 tC had no whistle, none noticeable anyway. I noticed the whistle on my rs two minutes I drove her off the lot when I was on the freeway.
