the common tC whistlin' everyone keeps refering to was caused by the sunroof....it happend in my previous tC but was gone one day..

the other "whistle" under the hood is is normal only when u start to accelerate, but dissapates after 2500-3000 rpms, which i believe is caused by the vaccum in the intake, wheather it would from the stock airbox or a CAI/SRI

the RS3 whistlin is definately caused by the lip kit

could it be from the side vents.
the lip kit ones are open but behind it is still blocked off.
maybe air is getting in there and getting forced out through wherever it can get out, causeng the whistle.

I just noticed my RS3 is having the same whistling problems =( What are the chances Toyota will get fix this problem? Also if they do come up with a fix will they charge the customers or do it for free?

Same issue here as well. I took the side vents out and it didn't make a difference. My radio flip down door assembly rattles like a **** too...I was hoping they'd fix that with the 2007 / RS 3 models.

I Recently got my Scion Tc RS3 and I noticed that when I am on the highway also, I experience this "wind whistling noise" when i accelerate to over 60 mph. It is quite annoying and I thought it was a leak in the sunroof. I thought about setting up an appointment with toyota service dept to see if they can fix it. But after reading that it is a similar problem with others should i bother to even bring it in to have them check it out?

Hopefully if enough people bring their cars in for this problem Toyota will work harder to find a solution.

Remdogg5, definately bring it in, not only does it make sure that its not the sunroof, but it logs another notch to whatever this is.

it's not so much a whistle as much as a windstorm going through your hood : /

Sounds like when you got the storm door closed but the gale storm is making an awful racket outside!.. but in the distance.

or the creepy wind noise in the background during scary movies. wooooEEEEEwooooooohhhhhhheeeeEEEE....

It seems to not occur as much during turning? or certain car angles...funky I'm totally bringing it up when I bring it in for my other installs. Pet peeve but I love my car... crank up that bass! wooo!

Aside from being lower, I was hoping that once I dropped mine the noise would go away due to less wind going under the car, thinking that might have had something to do with it, and I think the drop has helped a little bit. I've noticed that it whistles less often now. (fyi Tein S-techs...2.5'' in the front and 2'' in the back.)
