ok, i have been watching this thread since it started and the idea started out great but it has developed into a who knows where to go, lets get ____ drunk and screwed, i don't think this is what it is about. the first time someone is irresponsible on this event is when someones car is wrecked or someone is injured or killed because someone was high or drunk, if we are going to do this, we need to be adult about it and make it look like scion owners have responsibility and class, that is what it should be all about, i don't really have a preference about where to stop other than maybe kinda like the first guy said something about the boys and girls club, what about something like le bonheur childrens hospital in memphis tn or maybe something like the mayo cancer clinic in minnesota or the m.d. anderson hospital in texas i believe, that would make the scion owners look like they had a lot of class and care, and it would help the patients of those places feel as if someone was doing something special, if we brought those ideas to a company like scion, they would have no choice but to sponsor some part of it, but only if we were responsible about everything. Not saying we cant do a little playing but we need to be adult about it. that is just my opinion.

thats basically what i have in mind, which is y i have my own thread that wont deal w/ a race across the country. im tryin to help others and at the same time, maybe get cops of our backs because we modify our cars.

 

here my proposed route w/ times but i do not have time changes in this so it can change a little bit obviousl

day 1 nyc 9-noon -> pittsburgh 8-midnight
day 2 cleveland 11-1:30 -> chicago 8-midnight
day 3 davenport 10-1 ->lincoln 8-midnight
day 4 <option>laramie/cheyenne or denver 9-3
day 5 Salt Lake 9-12 ->Reno 8-midnight
day 6 Sacramento 12-3 ->S.F. 7-10
day 7 Torrance

ive calculated for driving times, and added some time for stops and traffic so it should be off by much, all that needs to be changed for is time changes


we can also bypass from salt lake to vegas i suppose but that will throw that off, and then go to torrance, another option

 

i think what your proposing is a great idea, however I want to do something where I just lay back and relax and have fun. I volunteer a lot around town and I don't really feel like going around and volunteering more on a "vacation" type event.

 

the most common complaint i see as i'm reading this thread:

"i don't wanna drive that far"

we should all ride in buses and get our tC's hauled by big rigs then.

 

I am not saying that we should stay at those volunteer places all day, I am talking like make an appearance, let the people who can get out see the cars, give some hugs or smiles and go on about our trip, just the stop and the thoughtfulness would be enough to let them know we care and they are in our prayers. We can have fun also but I think in order to get the sponsorship of this even or the publicity you guys want, we must do something like this. Oh and for bubblemyster and your too much volunteer time, you can never give enough of your time for little kids who might not make it to see tommorrow. Not downing you or anything, I just feel like this would be a great opportunity for us.

 

I see that you have a bigger heart than I do. As much as I like volunteering, I have a limit of how much I can contribute. I on occasion just need to get away from things and enjoy my life as well.

 

How about we just all meet up in vegas or something for 2 or 3 nights?

 

i know you would have to use vacation time to do something like this, but its not really intended to be a vacation, at least i dont think so. however, i did look at being in reno on a fri or sat night so we can go out and also in cali.

i also heard about an se event that may be happening and maybe we can coincide w/ the tour and change the route to go through vegas not reno, we'll see, obviously all prelim right now

 

man i would so be in this if yall just came south...lol......i live in monroeville alabama....1.5 hours from mobile/pensacola, 2 hours from montgomery, 5 hours from atlanta, 3 from b-ham.........yall should meet up somenoe around there so i can join

 

ideally id like someone to set something up from tallahasee to la so the southern states have something going on,
give me time to make contacts and find out whats going on and the interest level

 

i do like this idea also and along the way to vegas meet up with diffrant owners from diffrant areas and just have a big centralized meet that would kick ___



and the comments about drinking i dont feel are imiture if we stop off at citys hit up some clubs and stay at a hotel in that city then we can wake up and go out from there

Better yet, have our own DJ? and make this more like a BBQ or a HID/HIN. Morning/afternoon, BBQ laid back fun, track time, screwing around with cars, night time get some dancing events such as cards(low price buy in), buffet at night, car show, car show for prizes, little bit of dancing? Keep alcohol to a minimum to avoid and drunk and offensive types? Anyone with any better ideas?

 

well i think vegas is a good idea and im liking a meet there more and more as we talk about it

are there drag strips there??? and most important any that would support this???


how about dealerships can any one get incontact with dealers in vegas to help with the event???
