1 more thing...if you are over 21....AAA doesn't check your credit rating for car insurance...I know this because my credit sucks. We are talking a difference of $400 a year over allstate (who checks credit). F the government for making insurance the law!!!

Wait till you get hit by that uninsured driver, and then see if you still keep saying that about making insurance a law.

People's lives have been ruined by someone causing a wreck that has NO insurance. These people should be punished somehow. (People with no insurance that is)

well, i'm in college and i AM paying for my own tC, so obviously u're being spoiled Your first mistake is to buy the car under your name. I got mine under me and my mom or just my mom's , i'm not sure. But we put my mom and my name under the insurance. We got NATIONWIDE and I got SRS for my tC, so it's cheaper.

Or F yourself for screwing up your credit in the first place and putting yourself in a poor financial situation.....(unless it was medical)

Default My premium for my TC every 6 mos.

I just turned 28 this past Nov. and got the car on Dec.12 Got my insurance through Farmer's Insurance with Full Coverage with $500.00 deductible for $373.00 every 6 mos. I guess it pays to be a good driver with no tickets nor accidents since I was 16!

I'm with State Farm, 21,female, and I pay about $145 a month. The car is in my name and the payments are $330. I have one accident on my record, it was ruled my fault and their car was totaled. Good thing it was a ____ty 89 Ford Tempo. The insurance company only had to pay out $600.00 for their car so my rates didn't go up. (At least that's what they told me, we'll see, the accident was 2 weeks ago and the paperwork didn't go through yet) I don't think I'm doing too bad. Also, State Farm told me that it's categorized as a hatchback so that makes the rates cheaper.

The only time I know insurance to check credit is when you pay per month. If you can pay the whole thing at once they won't look at you're credit. Which I know 75% or more can't do.(including myself).

Correction:

I talked to my parents today and they said the insurance co. made a mistake and my fully comp insurance is going to be only $1200 a year!!!! But that's w/a $1000 deductable, but ____, we save more than that a year now!

ok..currently i am 19 years old.

I purchased th car on my own...and its under my name.

I am currently with American Family...paying 1100 for 6 months.

I have no wreck, no tickets.

I should get the good student discounts, multiple car discount, and maybe the new car discount.

My mother is complaining that her 4 cars...Chevy Venture, Dodge Intrepid, Daewoo Lanos, and the Honda Civic..is costing the same amount as my car itself.

So any help will help.

thanks

I just got a quote for Progressive this morning for a tC, current Progressive customer and over 25 years of age. They said under $400 for 6 months, a hair over $750 per year, full coverage, 100/300100 I think and $500 deductable(note under 25, probably around $1000 per year). I'm thankful for living in a place with little car theft and violence. I know some places are unbelievably horrible. So sad, maybe you should move, lol, sorry just had to. Also, group coverages are lower cost. Insure it along with parents cars if you can. It can be in your name, but group coverage is cheaper. You may also find it only being insured under parents alone with just you named as the driver may be better, a little different than group. Try different companies too, they do vary a bit, sometimes a lot, say 50% a lot. Example, old insurance, bro's Protege5 was $900 for 6 months initially. We went to Progressive and it went down to $600, now less since he's over 25 now. Shop around. You may find a deal.
