Default Scion Vehicle Changes for 2006

Ok all, here's the latest:

xA:

Deleted colors: Phantom Grey, Black Cherry
New Colors: FLINT MICA, SALSA RED PEARL

Production start date: 7/2005
Production end date: 6/2006

No word on the other color changes previously reported.

xB:

Deleted colors: None (so far)
New Colors: None (so far)

Production start date: 7/2005
Production end date: 6/2006

tC:

Deleted colors: Indigo Ink, Silver Streak
New Colors: NAUTICAL BLUE METALLIC, CLASSIC SILVER METALLIC

Production Start Date: 5/2005 (told ya so)
Production end date: 4/2006

NEW TRANSMISSION: 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC!!! (They listened to me!)

I can produce .PDFs with all of this information, but I would rather not from a confidentiality standpoint. This is probably more than Scion wanted leaked anyhow, but everyone on these boards is pretty sharp, and it would have ended up here eventually. I wanted the glory.

LATER, all!

So, production start date... does that mean I can get a 2006 xA on July 1st? Will there be any deals on the 2005 models and if so, when would these deals start?

Thanks! I'm looking to get an xA this summer (before aug) and just wondering if it would be worth it to wait either for an improved 2006 or a discounted 2005.

Thanks!

Go for 06, discounts isn't really going to be worth it in the long run.

I can't believe they are putting in a 5sp AT. Is the 06' getting a bigger engine? Is it one of those higher revving engines such as the Pontiac Vibe has? [it also has a 6 speed AWD]....interesting.....

what kind of benefit would you see with a 5-speed auto versus the previous AT?

The five speed allows for better acceleration at low speeds and lower engine rpm at higher sppeds (better MPG).
This makes sense because the engine is shared with the CAmry, and the CAmry has a 5 speed.

I'm hoping that we get both better acceleration and better HWY economy with 5 speed AT. It's possible, you know.

Thanks for the heads up, BDon! I had heard about the xA cosmetic changes, but couldn't find anything official in writing. But at least the 5AT is new, right?

Who cares about having a 5 speed auto in a slow car? If you wanted a faster shifting car, you should have gone with a Manuel, lazyness.

GD !#%$^%

I'm going to pick up my 5 spd 05 tC tomorrow. I think I'm still going to stay with my order though. Unless the manual is a 6 spd...then I will be really ____ed.

Or do you think I should say naw phoc it and place another order for an 06 tC?

I'm a bit confused here: will all the new Scions have a 5-speed auto option, or just the tC? Also, any reports on if this will increase the sticker price?

Default when do xA/xB arrive at the dealerships?

great info on production date, <Jedi Master> Jumbo.

Q: when do '06 xA/xB arrive at the dealerships? end of July or maybe Aug? any ETA based on last year? I'm sure a lot of us buyers<young trainees> really want to know when we can buy them in force vs. Prod date in Japan...
