I'm still kind of bummed out about IIP going bye-bye for the tC, but a 5 speed auto is good news! Hrm, I wonder if it will be the same shiftronic one they use in the Solara?

Who cares? A 5-speed would increase acceleration times. It'll also definitely benefit a turbo or supercharged tC.

Yeah, i'm actually sort of happy that I wasn't able to get an '05 now.

I'm still curious to see what the new blue for the tC is going to look like though- it isn't used on any other vehicles on toyota.com, and google came up with zilch (other than a color by the same name on a Volvo, was a darker blue than IIP.)

I'd rather have a 6-speed manual instead of a 5-speed auto.

Would the 5spd manual still be geared to have a better acceleration? Or would the 2 be exactly the same?

Would the majority of you still get a 5spd manual...or would you wait and get the 5 spd automatic?

Wow that 5 speed auto would be great for a turbocharged engine Sweet

OK, let's answer some concerns:

- Only the tC is getting the 5spd AT. I specifically checked on that to make sure.

- According to the production order, there are no color changes to the xB.

- Nautical Blue Metallica has a paint code of 8S6, and Classic Silver is 1F7.

- There has been no official announcement on pricing, and that will be the first place that anyone will hear about it. I may know a couple of days early, but I probably won't post it.

- still no 6spd MT, but I made sure to put that in my product survey this year. (Every year, I take a survey which asks me my opinions regarding the Scion line, and what I think ought to happen to it in the near future.)

- There are no specific dates for production aside from the month. That means that the first examples of 06 product will leave Japan in that month.

Talk to everyone LATER.

The only radio that will get the iPod link are the 6 disc changers. They will also have Sirrius satellite radio as an alternative to XM. The radio is also supposed to have a **** instead of buttons. There are not that many changes, just some fine tuning. Also, the Camry did not get a 5 speed auto until 2005 model. Everything else before was a 4 speed.

If you read my post, I said V6 Camry's

Do you think I make this crap up? My mother's 2002 V6 has a 4 speed 192 HP motor.

My grandma bought an 03' V6, and not only did it come with a 5 speed auto, but also the engine from the Avalon with VVT-I (210 HP I belive)

The 2005 Camry 4-cycl NOW come this a 5 speed auto.......................

I suppose I don't quite understand how a 5 speed auto transmission helps acceleration. Wouldn't it just shift more times at lower RPMs causing a slower acceleration?
