Putting a PM in your sig is a pretty dickish move by default...

Anyway, AWESOME cars, fellas. I actually went ahead and did the home depot lip my buddy suggested over on yoursciontc, and it came out real nice. Check out this shot from a photoshoot today...

Still gotta make some tweaks and paint it, but I'm happy with it. Especially for $10.

Did the same thing on the rear as well.

P.S. Because it only cost me $10 and about an hour of work, I may go ahead and do the sheet metal lip eventually if I get a good rat-rod plan put together. We'll see.

Sicccck rolling shot.. I plan on doing mine satin black now, instead of chalk board, but those plans might change. It will be a flat black of some sort.
And his sig is edited, its not what I said in the pm.

Yep, I would just use self-tapping screws.

Yeah, I turned them into DRL's.

If it's cheap I'll go pick up some aluminum and stick it on there temporarily to see how it looks.

I made a little circuit box with some relays that basically just reverses the circuit, as in, the lights are always on, but then when the car thinks it's turning them on, it's actually powering the relays; when the relays turn on, it breaks the circuits to the blinkers, so they turn off.

Gripes:
Tinting your headlights does affect light output. I don't see how you can say that it doesn't. Simply goto a tinted window and hold a light behind it, then do the same to a clear window. Noticeable difference. Just saying.

Secondly, you hinted on it yourself. The propped up hood is a complete myth and makes the car look junky. You said it increases airflow around the header, the header is clear up in front of the engine bay. As air flows over the car, you'll get some leakage into engine bay, however that air won't divert forward, instead it will channel through the opening at the bottom of the engine bay and straight out. You're actually creating a bit of drag on the car. Also, theres no need to cool off the header, your exhaust temps do not matter on an n/a car at all.

All this being said, props on the paint.
Regardless of whether or not it helps much, that is not correct on the airflow. Air flowing over an opening creates a vacuum effect on the air inside the enclosed area (moving air causes an area of low pressure at the opening, so the air beneath moves up and out). This means it aids in pulling warm air out of the engine compartment.

Roll all your windows up and drive around without the recirc on and without the blower on. Now, crack your sunroof open and see how much more air flows through the vents. Same principle.

rusto>krylon. krylon paint is tooooooo watered down IMO. always thought that even when i use to bomb, krylon in the early/mid 90s decided to water down there paint to avoid graffiti artists to use them for wrongful purposes. rusto did the same but not as much as krylon

get the second one with the grip and trigger. makes it easier on you doing it and its for all purposes not just furniture.

after awhile your finger will hurt with normal cans lol, trigger will be best.

idk about the clear. wet sanding to avoid orange peel might be best

Remember to use a self-etching primer otherwise it will flake off the bumpers when they flex. Also PREP IS EVERYTHING!
