I like the racing-type sequential shift lights. It only starts to light up when you get into higher RPM, with the brightest light (or a red light, there are many designs) coming on when it's right at redline (SHIFT NOW!) I think it's a little too "racey" for the tC, but I've thought about putting one in my MX-3 before.

Here are some pics of different designs:

Here's a how-to on installing one of these.

^ Im getting that seems very small...
This one looks big, I think I might like to find on that would somehow be mounted into the guage cluster.

Yes this is the exact picture I started this thread about, thats a cool light, can you tell me where you got it. It looks cool in your box, even if it does make you an idiot (come on...) I like it man nice job.

Just like how Lebeastman said that everyone has different tastes. It's true and to each his/her own. My tastes are different from others but if they weren't, what would be the point of everyone driving a Scion the same color, wheels and styles. It would be nice if everyone on this site were to be nice to each other and respect what other people think instead of being stupid like the rest of the sites.

I agree. It's your money, your car. Even though it isn't to my taste, props to LeBeastMan for a very nice and clean install.

I wasn't aware that a racing shift light existed. I thought he meant the stupid arrow that lights up in my focus and on my old s-10. It never tells me when to shift.

THOSE LIGHTS ARE IDIOT LIGHTS. Now the racing ones are a different story. If they tell you peak performance shifts, then go for it. I just don't see the need for it in mine.

Sorry again, for not knowing they made the other. But it also wasn't clearly stated.

Thank you for saying that.... before you guys jump on my case, why don't you try paying attention to what I said... no where did I call the lights race drivers use idiot lights, nor am I calling people who use them idiots. The common term used for the lights used in place for gauges is "idiot light".... light a light to tell you when your oil is low, instead of gauge on your dash. I was asking if that was the light being refered to or the adjustable racing type.

I noticed you people (not all, just the select few) like to bash people when not even fully understanding what they meant

I got the light at Super Autobacs... and it was 39 bucks... its made by A-pexi, but you have to get an RPM module from Autometer... thats around 90 bucks... it should be pretty straight forward on how to install it.... just power, ground and one wire going to the tach wire from the ecu.

Just a bit of info for those who didn't know. TRD will be releasing a sequential shift light for all manual vehicles next month.

Here's a pic of it on a matrix. it's sitting on/right behind the steering wheel.
