So, any non-turbo's scions want to run in South FL... preferrably up at the track? Including supercharged, nitrous, etc. I've seen the turbo'd jamasco engineering one run and that was schweeeeet
So, any takers?

if it's something in the 13s or high 12s I can bring an '03 mach 1 to race. i'm planning on going to brandenton next thursday.
Hey DouBleJ16, I'll definitely take you up on the offer man with the Mach1... however Bradenton is a DRIVE for me lol, easily 2 1/2 - 3 hours, Moroso is 1 hour away from me. I'll PM you in a month or so when I am heading out to Bradenton (I hear it hooks really well), though, and if you still have the Mach we'll line them up
Thanks for the offer man

So happy I don't have to deal with all these flame wars anymore. My car has this, your car has that, turbos, superchargers, exhausts, intakes, lowers, blah blah blah. I put an end to it all about 4 years ago when I bought a Suzuki sport bike. I suggest some of you try it. It is truly liberating. If you're running 4 wheels you aren't even a blip on my radar. My car is for driving and carrying passengers now.
It is funny when one of these tuner types pulls up on me at a red light and starts gunning his farty exhaust note at me. I see all the stickers on his windows about turbo this and Injen that. Doesn't he realize none of that is gonna matter when that light turns green? I usually let them ride alongside me for a bit for fun (it gives him the illusion he has a chance), and then I flip up my visor, sit back, toot my horn and wave bye bye. With a simple flick of my wrist I put 100 yards between myself and the 4 wheeled noise maker. The look on their faces is so priceless when they see how hard I pull away as they are frantically trying to squeeze every last rpm from 2nd gear.
Most guys know to avoid messing with a bike, but it is amazing how many kids (and Mustang owners of any age) think they can outrun (let alone even keep up) a bike.
I am not knocking tuners at all, it is still great fun, and there is nothing wrong with customizing your car and making it cooler & faster. I just find it funny when someone thinks they can outrun a bike, no matter what you have under the hood.

Yep, I had a feeling you may be one of the disbelievers! I have a stock Suzuki SV650S. I can hit 60mph in 3.5 seconds from a standstill. Not some professional driver mind you, just me. You don't even want to get into rolling acceleration comparisons. Trust me, the only thing you would see is my tailight getting small very quickly. I don't want to sound obnoxious, but I would hit 100mph WELL before you hit 60.
The power to weight ratio of most any decent bike above 250cc is enough to out-accelerate just about any car on the road unless you are running 650hp+ and your car weighs under 2500lbs. Even still, the car would need a perfect run by a highly skilled driver to even keep up with the bike.
Now if you are talking strictly top speed numbers, sure, sports cars can easily compete with and, in many cases, outclass bikes in a purely statistical manner. But there are trains that can hit 200mph too. That does you little good in a race. It's all how you get there that counts. I would have time at the finish line to take off my helmet and light up a cigarette before you showed up.
How many bikes have you smoked in the Volvo lately? Just curious.
Now, shall we get into cornering speeds?
how about an open ended invitation to any stock 600CC bike?
We all know the 750 CC+ can move, however I haven't been impressed with 600CC bikes on a roll, usually around 110 they die off?

BTW, I don't go looking for these people, they usually find me. Anyone who has a bike knows what I am talking about. This past fall I had a guy in an 05 vette roll up on me (400hp 400ft/lbs torque) He had his buddy with him and he was revving at me. I looked over and they were laughing at me and pointing and waving as if to say "bye bye". The light turned green and we all know how the story ends. (they made it a point to turn off into a parking lot before we got to the next light so they wouldn't have to face the embarrassment.)

last week a guy in a sl55 tried to race me i looked at him and his blond bimbo girl ( she almost had me loose cuz she was smokin hot ) and he was thinking he was a bad ___ and well like another poster said " we all know how that turned out"
HAIL all bikes and cars that can beat them
While in cars that trap around 110 MPH, I haven't had issues with 600CC bikes on a 60 MPH roll, personal experiences
BTW... I'm going to be in the market for a yellow/black Gixxer in a little while :D Bikes are the best man, great gas mileage, superior handling ability, and sweet 0-100 times

People who don't ride or have never ridden a street bike just don't understand and just don't get it. I used to be the same way. I used to drive a 3000GT VR4 (320hp 315ftlb) before I had my first bike and I thought I could beat just about anything on the road. Then when I got my bike I was shocked at the amount of "thrust" a bike provides. It's like getting fired off the deck of an aircraft carrier. Outside of top fuel dragracers, it is hard to get that feeling in a 4 wheeled vehicle.
No matter what you are driving or how good you think you can drive it, the power and speed is much more accessable in a bike for an average consumer. It's that simple. It takes professional drivers for car magazines sometimes up to 10 runs to get a good time in a car. One slip and you lose a second or more. A bike is so much easier to pace through the gears and the powerband is so much wider that even if you don't make a perfect run you end up losing only a tenth or 2.
Get the bike my friend and you will see the light. Just be careful out there! There are no fender benders on a bike like the one guy said!
I hear what you are driving at with the 60 mph roll on... were these actual races on circuit where the biker actually knew you were racing him? Or are you just saying you pulled alongside a 600cc bike on the freeway doing 60 and punched it? Maybe the biker didn't know your intentions? Or perhaps by the time he realized you were racing him you already had your car in the best gear, turbo kicked in and rpms up and foot to the floor. By the time he kicks down 3 gears and rolls on I am sure you already put some distance between the two of you.
When I toasted that vette a while back, the sound of his engine roaring at maximum rpm's next to me as we flew down a stretch was funny to me. I am sure he thought he was going to smoke me. I am guessing we were doing around 50 or 60 ish when I decided to actually "twist" my throttle on full. I pulled away from him like he was standing still. I couldn't see his face, but the passengers face went from a laugh to "concerned".
Remember that scene from Spiderman the movie when Peter Parker first gets his powers and he gets in a fight by the lockers? You know how the guy is thowing punches and to Peter it is like the guy is moving in slow motion? That is what it is like racing cars on a bike.

man, you're so right about the pure adrenaline and thrust a bike provides... it's truly unbeatable.
I'll be sure to post up some videos of 600CC bike getting beat by my buddy's cars when I get the chance... btw, srt4 on spray and 03 cobra with the usual mods

uh..no either the guy on the bike wasn't even racing you, or it was a 125 or a 250. This is the guys truck i was talking about
http://www.neufamily.org/truck.html
Does your friends volvo run 10.91 sec quarter miles at 122 mph?
I dont think so...
Then check out this video site .....
http://www.1320video.com/videos.php scroll down to Street racing 9/4/04 and download it
It shows the truck racing multiple cars including a cobra, vette zo6, and what the guy specifically says is a 600RR(and it whooped this guys truck).
So what's your friends specs, what does he do the qm in? Because if it isn't better than 10.91 secs than he didnt beat the bike, the truck surely didn't.
