Default slight wheel well scraping after tein s. tech install...

I just had my TRD struts and Tein S. Tech springs installed. While my installer did not mention anything, I can hear my front tires tap the top of the wheel well I hit dips on some corners or entering the freeway on uneven surfaces (from the on-ramp). It doesn't happen all the time and ride is still pretty smooth (not nearly as stiff I had expected), but can someone tell me if this is normal? Do I need to get this checked out? And could this lead to greater problems and I should get my springs replaced (perhaps with TRD)?

Whoops! I'm running on 225/40-18s. Not sure what the offset is though.

unless if you have a low offset like my new rims... you should not be rubbing at all.. on my old rims i had 225/40/18 dealer installed 18s and i dropped it on stechs and i didnt rub one bit.. if the dealer installed your rims, then they shouldnt rub anything, because they check to see if the rims fit with absolutely no problems... my new rims have a +35 offset.. they stick out a lot.. if i lowered anymore i would rubbing ALOT. so something must be up

Thanks, Brian. I had my wheels installed at America's Tire (but that was before the drop). I'll have to take it back there for their opinion. Do you know if this kind of type of contact can cause a lot of problems?

do you know if your mechanic cut the bumpstops and put them back in??? if he didnt then thats part of your problem there..

No, I didn't think to ask. I'll have to find out.

I thought springs normally give a little more after a while and will increase my drop. Could that mean more risk of contact?

FYI, I have photos up in my gallery so you can see the drop itself (although that might not help).

yeah it will... the bumpstop is there to protect the shaft encasing of the piston from bottoming out on the tophat..
