Smells, Rattles, Noises, & Strange Things. My Poor tC :(
Note that half the posts in this thread are Nick and Cybergypsy.
ALL models of cars include some with problems.
Read JD Power. The BEST make in initial quality - Lexus - has 87 initial problems per 100 cars. BMW has 116 per 100 cars. Scion, BTW, had 158 problems per 100 (for the xA and xB only - funny that Cyber isn't going off on the xA) - that's fewer than Porsche or Hummer, which are a LOT more expensive.
No one here has even come close to proving that the tC has more problems than, say, the xA or xB. It's mostly the same 2 people _____ing repeatedly - and one of them doesn't even OWN a tC.
Cars DO frequently have problems right off the assembly line. Doesn't mean they're lemons - it means they're normal. Spend your time getting the problems fixed (this means doing some work yourself, like figuring out what's rattling), not going on some internet chat board crusade. Don't be a tool about it, and understand that some things (like the condensation in high humidity) may not be problems at all, and your dealer will be more willing to help you.
(BTW, Cyber owns 2 or 3 Mercedes, which by her own standards proves she shouldn't be talking about quality. http://www.lemonmb.com/ )

It should be, but it RARELY is that simple, right? Dump the idealism and accept the FACT that no matter what you buy, it will probably arrive with some flaw....especially a complex machine with thousands of parts made by imperfect humans...some having a really ____ty day. Save yourself the ulcer and move on.

Ok, so they may not be all perfect, but the dealers should fix them. Thats the problem is the dealers can't/won't fix the issues many people are having. There is no excuse for some people to get rattle traps and others to have nice cars.

And EVERY brand of car has some people get "rattle traps" and some people get "nice cars." The AVERAGE car (any brand you care to name) has at least one defect. That's a fact. Saying "there's no excuse" won't change it.
