Pete, I hope I didnt come accross like that, my post just said it wasnt a good choice. Ive always had a second car to drive or even a third option. Im sure your vehicles are nice, hence is the reason *I* dont take my vehicles (some wouldnt do well anyways) out for chance, with idiot drivers and newbies on the snow. Guarantee there has been tons of accidents today here in PA and MD...
If I had a vette, (even as second car) id also have a third car.. its that easy

____, my grand marquis is my snow vehicle, but THINK about it.. what do most cops drive in the snow? crown vic's.. my car is identical to them, but acctually better (way more luxury) and with the trac control, it does not slip AT ALL.. period. its wicked cool, even if it is a old mans vehicle. v8, RWD and all. but its a TANK, very heavy. Also skill and reaction has a lot to do with snow driving as well..

People usually use higher profile tires in the winter because it's a lot easier to damage a wheel in the winter (objects buried in snow, frost heave, bigger potholes). Higher profile is also cheaper. The profile doesn't make any difference in the traction.

What DOES make a difference is the width of the tire. Narrower tires have more weight on them per square inch, which can give you better traction.
