^^ the guy that lost the ticket had to also pay court fees

and I say fight the tickets it's worth it or get a lawyer to fight it only because if you plea guilty and pay that ticket you will get hit with another fine later for $300 from the state cuz you have 6 or more points on your licence. thats how NYC is but i'm pretty sure it goes with the whole state, I'm fighting 2 tickets right now one for 90 in a 50 and a 110 in a 55

if its your first ticket you don't have to worry about a thing just plead a good drivers record. you get off and only have to pay court fees and the ticket is taken off your record.. its called ensponging ...or something like that

here in RI i know every 3 years you can have a ticket written off if you have a good record

If its your first ticket: slap on the wrist.

Oh and get to court as early as possible. Don't show up five minutes before they open thinking, 'I'm early.'

140?? when I say I was doing 140 and 110 isn't that fast. My frist ticket was going 61 in a 50 zone at 3 in the morning with my accord so if they out to get you they gonna get you. and its not like i do 110 all the time just when we take out cars out for a drive and head out to jones beach ( if you know that straight away it's nice to drive on.

He was being sarcastic. And yes if they want to get you they will. But in a group of cars they are going to go for the sport compacts or sport cars first before they go for that jack ___ soccer mom in the minivan that I always see doing an easy 10 over changing lanes without signaling and cutting people off.

Slow it down they are public roads... not your roads

Looks like alot of misinformed folks. I'd say that you should just go in early, maybe a couple hours before court, speak with the clerks to get informed of your options. Dependant on your local laws your choices can be alot different.

Despite what everyone thinks they're not out to get you. They are people doing a job just like you, and it makes no difference to them if you get cited, arrested, or cut loose. If you maintain a calm professional demeanor I'd venture to say you'll be treated accordingly.

The main thing is NYC is that the cops need to give at least 10 tickets a month some people do it in the beginning to get it over with some wait last minute to get it done. But it has to be done. Thats why people go to court for stupid reasons just because the cop has to write up that ticket. I'm not sure if it's the same in TX.

By the way if you are exactly over 20mph, that;s 4 points violations.
