Default so i just brought my 06 home...with no inspection sticker

Well today after going to the dealership to bring home my 06 tC, where I had about 3 hours of waiting because of registration/insurance issues of which none were our fault, they told me that I would need to come in tomorrow for the inspection however they still let me take the car. Everthing else was fine. So I was like ok, since I thought (I was wrong about this though; my fault) he was talking about some "Toyota Inspection". However after I finally came home and told my parents about it and when they took a look at the car they noticed the sticker wasn't their. I didn't even notice it wasn't their.

So now I have to go back to the dealer first thing tomorrow morning which is about a half-hour away so they can do the inspection and then I am free.

Now the problem is the police. Would I get pulled over? How big of a risk am I taking? And if I do get pulled over and use the exclamation above, would they let me go?

I guess this could be partially my fault but I wish the dealer could have atleast warned me about this. Damn!, and I wanted to do some cruising tonight too!

And I live in MASS.

Sorry, it's "wasn't theirs". The "s" is to show ownership. No one ever says "it's their" unless they are referring to "Hey, look over there!" It's only "their" when it's followed by noun.

And now on to your question.

No, doesn't matter. go take it out if you want. If anything it's a dealer inspection where you/your parents and an inspector go over the car and any inperfections are pointed out as so they can't be blamed if you come back in a week and say there is a rock chip. Since inspection didn't show it, it's not their fault.

I imagine that the dealer should not have let you take the car until it was completely ready.

However, that wasn't done.

On your way tomorrow, should you get stopped by any law enforcement, just provide them the paperwork and tell them exactly the truth. Cops have been given bad reps, but I honestly can't think of a police officer that would cite you for this case.

Should the worst happen, pm me and I will help you. I live in Mass and my father is a police officer.

Sounds good.

Also, Rivulent, I am awful with English grammar, especially when typing on forums and I almost always mix up their and there and sometime even they're witout thinking about it first.

However, now, because of your post, I will alwys check if I use it right or not.

Do you know any official site that shows this. I would tell my father about this but he wants "official" proof and wouldn't believe your post. LOL.

I'll try searching it for myself though.

I found it! And I guess it's seven days now.

http://vehicletest.state.ma.us/gener...ml#wheninspect

"The Registry of Motor Vehicles (http://mass.gov/rmv/regs/index.htm) requires that all vehicles, whether new or used, be inspected within seven calendar days of registration in order for them to be operated on Commonwealth roadways."

edit: sry bout the triple post.
