Default soot on rear bumper?

anybody getting soot on their rear bumper?

mine does it after i put on a greddy axleback. i never remember it with the stock exhaust. its not much just a little bit. it might be because i let my car sit and idle for like 5 to 10 minutes on cold mornings and the exhaust just sortof rises up across the bumper for a while instead of being pushed out like it would going down the road. is a little soot normal? its not bad just a tiny bit above the exhaust tip.

sounds like you're right on

1) you don't need to let it idle when its cold out.
2) Exhaust does that, its exhaust, but especially if the only place for it to go is across your bumper.. Just make sure you wash it regularly so it doesn't stain and look nasty

No, it's actually better for the engine to start driving it right away. Just don't go full throttle or race the engine before it's warm.

i got a carbon fiber heat shield off ebay.
check it out.
you wont noticve the dirt cuz its carbon fiber so its already dark.
and if your exhaust gets hot, itll save your bumpers paint job by preventing melting, cracking, bubbling and all that lovely stuff.

Or you can try and reposition your exhaust. (Doesn't sound like fun to me.)
My PM Axle Back sticks out enough where the exhaust doesn't touch or leave grime on my tC.
