Default steering wheel is not centering

i own my 07tc for almost a month n decided to take it to the freeway, 700miles now, i found out that my steering wheel is not align correctly, when going on a straight, i found out it's off by a degree or 2, which is clearly not centering, i don't know it's the alignment on the tire not correctly or the steering wheel, i didn't find out that until i took it to the freeway.

the question is, do u think the dealer will help me fix this problem without any charge, i really think they should fix it for me cuz they sell me a car with minor problem, i have not call them yet...
hope i can get some replies from here first..

the dealership I went through would fix it no question. I bought my tC and later realized there were some scratches here and there, nothing to big. I took it back and they gave me a voucher to have it fixed for free.

there was another thread somewhere that said the car, steering wheel, was designed to pull to the right a little bit for saftey reasons. say you fall asleep, the car will pull to the right to send you to the curb rather than into the other lane. but however, if it's a strong pull, then yeah, that's a problem.

Go to the dealer and have it fixed under warranty and don't take "there is no problem" as an answer. Contact scion corporate, they are INCREDIBLE with customer service and will help you double team the dealer, plus they have more leverage. I don't care how minor or major an issue it is, I want my car to be MINT if I just spent that kind of money on it and it doesn't cost me a dime to have it fixed, so i'd get on the dealer to fix it if it were me! Hope that helps

yes, it does have the tendency to go to the right, not on local driving, i only notice that on freeway i was testing my cruise control and drive with no hands while no cars around at night, i hope it's not the safety feature u talk about... plus i won't be so easy to fall sleep driving a manuel... i gonna call my dealer later n ask about it.

another question, any 2005 or 2006 tc owners have this kind of problem?

Mine does go towards the right when I don't hold on to the steering wheel. I think that is what it was meant to do. Mine is an '06.

I just picked up mine on Saturday, and on the way home from the dealership I noticed it does track to the right (when I let go of the wheel)...and generally the steering wheel is off a little, so it seems it would need an alignment. I've already called the dealership and made an appointment for later this week, and they agreed it shouldn't be doing that.

I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

yea mine is a little off center... but it helps me out the way i place my left hand on the wheel.... i really don't think about it... cause the car doesn't pull ot eaither side for me .. unless my tire pressure is off..

Or it could be that the road is not straight.

^^ x2. Most all road surfaces exhibit some negative camber so that water rolls off and doesn't pool. That makes your car tilt and veer slightly to the shoulder. And I've noticed that the tC is very sensitive to low spots like that.

Try driving in the left lane of a divided highway and see if it still pulls right.

yup, if the road isn't exactly level, then it will go off slightly. Other than that, it goes off to the right ever so slightly... usually you just need a tiny bit of pressure (just touching the wheel with your fingertips is enough) to keep the car straight.
