I'm not so sure if it's normal or not. I have to ask my local dealership about this. My situation isn't really after I wash her, just during normal operation. Even though the handbrake is lowered the light would still be on. After a few revs and maybe a .25 mile later it would turn off. But a gear or two later it would come back on. Is my handbrake malfunctioning?

I don't understand what could be causing the problem. I sure hope it has nothing to do with the actual brake still engaged while I'm moving. And I hope it's just the sensors or some electrical malfunction. Maybe I had dropped a coin in there and it's wedged between the thingy (don't know the term for it) that is pressed to turn the brake warning light off when the handbrake is down.

This gets annoying and makes me nervous everytime it happens. Glad yet not glad to know I'm not the only one with this happening. Another recall?

I was reluctant to check the pads, since they need to be replaced soon anyways. But I will check again tomorrow. I'll switched them out once I get the car back from repairs.

i was having an issue with my handbrake today too. i engaged it so i wouldn't roll of the cliff by my aunt's house and when i went to move the car i couldn't get the handbrake to go down. my aunt came out and hopped in the car and got it to go down with no problem and then reengaged it so i could get in and the car wouldn't roll. i try to put it down and it didn't move. i finally had to have her move it because i coldn't get the brake to disengage and i was doing the same thing she was doing. very weirdd
